Hi

Need some help filling out the I-131 part 3. Not sure what to put since currently we are not planning any travel back to England but how to by the end of 2011. We are filling the I-131 out as part of our AOS package. Do I just put "unknown" ? Or do I skip to part 7 ? I reviewed the sample form but that had dates entered so I'm unclear how to proceed. thanks for your help.

One USCIS lady at the field office here in Omaha told me to put down a date that would be at least 3 months away from the application date. Most VJers here advise that you write unknown, instead of a fake date. Either way, don't leave it blank. I did write a date and I had no problems whatsoever. Good luck!

Unknown is fine. It is what I did and I was approved without RFE.

There's an AOS thread in my signature that will help you with attached docs. Remember you do NOT include an attachment explaining your AOS eligibility, you are filing the I-131 with AOS and THAT is your eligibility. Again, I was approved without RFE or interview.

Thank you... did you fill in part 7 also?

Yes, but only the first question regarding how many trips are planned (I ticked the "one trip" box) and where it asks for details about circumstances of trip (right at part 7), I answered "visiting family". I, too, was approved without RFE or interview. I'm thinking there's not just one way of filling out this form...and I suppose it's not illegal to write a probable travel date if the USCIS officer was the one who actually advised me to. Whatever you decide, I am sure it would be just fine. Have a speedy approval!

Where does it ask for details at part 7? There is some wording under the section title that says to attach a separate piece of paper explaining how your eligible (or to be exact: "Circumstances that warrant the issuance of Advanced Parole") but as the AP is being filed concurrently that's not required.

well, that's where I wrote the reason for AP, so that I wouldn't have to write it on a piece of paper. The USCIS officer said that was OK and my AP application was not rejected, nor did I get RFE. Whether the officers were wrong or not, we'll never know. I only told the OP what I did, taking into consideration the successful application. The OP is of course free to fill out the form as she considers right.

I wasn't judging, I was asking. Thank you for answering.
