I keep trying to schedule an appointment online and keep getting this message on the Application verification page of the K-1 visa appointment scheduling icon on the scheduling an immigrant visa page:

Warning! The category you have selected is intended for returning residents/SB-1 visa applicants only. If you do not belong to this category, please do not use this category to schedule an appointment. If you do so, and you are not a returning resident/SB-1 visa applicant, you will not be interviewed, even if you present yourself at the Embassy on the scheduled date. Consequently, you will need to book another appointment under the proper category.

This wasn't coming up before. What can I do now to schedule? I wasted $20 in phone cards last week trying to schedule by phone.

What number are you calling to schedule? 214-571-1600, 632-982-5555, & 632-902-8930 can be called free from the US. Well, free if you're calling from a cell phone or pre-paid, I guess. But certainly no $20 in cards. I have gotten thru to an operator within 10 call-backs due to like trouble or busy signals.

Good luck!

I have called 632-301-2000 ext.5184 & 5185 many times & a recording saying their busy & not available. I do get through on 214-571-1600 and get through to talk to someone and keep getting the same error, case # not valid error message from them as I was getting when I try to schedule myself online. And this is after I got this email from the IVManilaReplies@state.gov:

This is in reply to your inquiries of March 16, and 18, 2011, regarding the visa case of the referenced individual.

We received the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)-approved visa petition (I-129F) from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) on March 18, 2011, and notified the applicant in writing that she is eligible to be scheduled for a visa interview at the Embassy.

I just called 214-571-1600 (menu:2, 2, 1, 2) at 19:11 PI time, and got a rep on the first call. Spent 30 minutes repeating info because the call quality from Afghanistan is terrible, only to have him tell me that there are no appointments, please call back tomorrow.

I got through last night and scheduled an interview finally, got an April 28 date. I was hoping for April 15 or before. I just hope they scheduled it correctly because when I go to the website and click on K-visa appointment scheduling it gives me this warning:

Warning! The category you have selected is intended for returning residents/SB-1 visa applicants only. which now concerns me we are scheduled for this and that it won't be valid. Today, I called the US Visa office in the US, he said the lady he needed to talk to this had left for the day but he'd call me tomorrow.

Since you scheduled over the phone, I am sure you are ok. The warning is letting people know they can only schedule online for SB-1 visas. So you should be good!

Congrats... we called just a few hours apart, and I was told there were no appointments, but the gentleman would not tell me how far out he was looking.

I honestly think they are looking at the same thing as us as far as that warning. They told me they see the same thing. I rescheduled our appointment last night to 4/12 by going through them again.
