How fast does NVC receive...

We've been approved for 2 weeks now! My fiancé called the Dept. of State on Friday and they said the case is not in their database yet. How fast does USCIS forward an approved petition? Also, as soon as it reaches NVC, does the petition appear in their database righ away(the same day) or is it possible that it takes some time? I'm getting really worried about it. Is that normal?

Thanks!

We got approved March 4, last time we called (last week) they said they already received it but still not in their system. You just have to keep calling them I guess. I've seen some of the forum members got theirs 4-5 days after the approved NOA2.

Oh, I see, oki! I was thinking of calling them again anyway! I'll bug them until I know where my petition is! I bet it's there sitting and waiting to be logged in or something. Oh well, I got out of VSC, how much longer is it going to take from now on, right? ;)

My petition got to NVC in 4 days and was only there for 4 days (weekend included) before being sent to US Embassy Manila.

I've been wondering about this too, so I'm glad you asked it. Ours just reached NVC on Thursday but I was wondering what to expect in a wait time before they're entered into the system.

"edit" I read your question wrong. I'm trying to find out how long it takes to enter into the system that they received our documents (AOS and IV) at NVC, not the petition.

Same, called today and they "have no record of it". Not sure what the VSC is doing with these approved petitions. NVC is in New Hampshire (according to State Dept. Website) which is right next door to Vermont so I can not see it taking a long time for the petitions to arrive even if it is sent via USPS's cheapest method.

Yes, I know, right?! NH is right next to VT.

See, the thing is, I think they do have the petitions and they haven't logged them in or something. Otherwise I don't understand, VSC doesn't need approved petitions to just sit there.

It's been 2 weeks today. I have called NVC again a few minutes ago(my fiancé called the DoS on Friday) and the lady told me to come back in about an hour. She said they can't check case status right now. At least she was nice. Either they're having a problem with the system or they're just in their lunch break. It's noon there. I'll call back in 2 hours, just to be sure they check it.

Blob18, allow them at least a week. It takes several days until they receive it. I've just seen your NOA2 date, March 14. They should receive it these days. Then pray that they give you info about your case instead of saying "no record of paperwork" yada, yada.

take a look at timelines of people a week or so ahead of you and you will see how long it is taking them currently

I've been doing that :). Seems, recently, a lot of people don't update theirs once they get their NOA2. Had to go back to the end of February to see updated timelines. Average wait was 3 to 7 days from NOA2-NVC, more or less.

plan on about 2 weeks, but after 10 days or so you should start calling. The automated system can be slow to get updated so you pretty much have to talk to a person. Seemed like just after lunch eastern US time was the best time to call as I could get through then. If you just want to check the automated system you can call after 12:00 PM eastern US time and pretty much get through but the info isn't very up to date.

good luck.

Hi, Ours got there fairly fast, it's just leaving there that's taking longer. 11 days today it's been there. Also the automated system don't show ours being there and I have to speak with the operator to get the info. Speak to an operator to get your case number. They put a service request in on our's today when I called . Good Luck :)
