When we went through the process my fiance was in AP

for about 4 1/2 months. The embassy even done a home visit, talked to neighbors, went back to his birth place and talked to people. In the end, they called him back, all was said was "Congratulations, you checked out, you can pick up your visa in one weeks time". Dont worry, it will be over soon.

Nijabound, pls can you tell me the steps you took before your AP is over? Like did you call congressman/woman to help you look into it for mine is 4 months now.

you dont do anything,you can contact the congressman and representative,but its pretty much a long long background check that can take as long as the embassy thinks it should.you should focus on staying in touch with the embassy and getting updates from them rather than contacting the congressman. good luck

PS: in direct response to your question,there is nothing you can do about AP its another waiting period

NO none. I call DOS every week to receive the same answer:" It's still PENDING and in PROCESS". This is all I get from them. We are at our wit's end after 4 1/2 months, but what can we do? NOTHING but wait until they reply with an answer.

i just saw in another forum now that in Egypt you can check your pending case online.

I wonder how this so called "giant" of Africa has not seen what it's mates are doing. Shame on them. shame, shame.

We mailed tham a few days ago we have not got any response from them yet in Lagos. They usually mail back in 3days or less when you mail them.

no specific reason was given at his appointment for the interview. They just told him his case will be going to AP now. Good luck!

Many Cases are put under administrative processing because of security and fraud reviews.In most cases,there is no security or fraud issue. Still ,visa applications remain pending for weeks or months. The issue of being organized has been stated here on VJ to the point of being over-flogged but you certainly need to know where your documents are. Fidgeting about looking for W2 or pay stubs sends out the wrong vibes of a nervous person.Try and keep eye contact with the CO at all times.
