Hello all!

So, I think the answer to my question is allready to be found on the site, but I can't find it anymore!

So, here it goes: What are specifications I need to keep in mind putting the I 130 packet together (besides the info provided on wiki and guides)

Anything else I have to take account of maybe? Or will that do?

And, interview. Whenever the interview comes (long time from now I know)

But what might be questions they ask? Anyone a list of those by any chance?

If you go to Guides and then to 1R-1/CR-1 guide, there is a checklist, right above the checklist a link that says "assembly instructions" with alot of helpful tips.

Thank you soooo much! Looks like we're on the same boat! As for me and the hubby; waiting on the original marriage certificate to come in! When that gets here, we can file!

Btw,, did you get to the cover letter yet?

We are in the same boat! Waiting on the marriage certificate as well which then needs to be legalized here in Argentina (not sure about other countries).

I did start a cover letter, a basic professional, dated and signed letter that explains what I am petitioning for by filing the I-130. I included a brief sumamry of my situation... met over 3 years ago, dating ever since, living in argenina and married in March. If you feel your case is unique, they say attach a separate sheet at the end of the packet to explain your case. I also have a table of contents that lists everything in the packet, I will put it behind the cover letter.

But, how did you find out you had to legalize it first through Argentina? Cause I dont know how that goes for my country?

Lytha, they got married in another country(Argentina) that's why they need to certify and translated it (assuming it;s in spanish!)

You got married in the US, you only need the marriage certificate! Your situation is different!

Now, if you want to take your marriage certificate back to Belgium and have it registered and translated there, you need an APOSTILLE (convention of Hague) attached to it! Or a certified copy with the apostille.

Contact de Department of State, of the state that you got married, and tell them that you need an apostille (tell them the country so that way they will know that you need the convention of Hague and not just legalisation!) As far as I know all EU countries request that!

Congratulation on your new marriage ! I filled out i-130 and 2 G-325( one for each person me and my hubby), and also i attached a few of our together pictures( a picture of couple, family picture, and a pictures with friends ) to send out with application.

So did I, that + 3 sworn affidavits! Excited to send it out, first step! Hopefully itll go smooth!
