Do you honestly think the millions of people around the world who objected to the Iraq War did so for no other reason than that they didn't like GWB or the Republican Party? That's a pretty ridiculous opinion...

No...it's because they loved Saddam Hussein.

BTW...opinions are like azzholes...everyone has one and all of them stink. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Pretty obvious that the relativism on display here is top notch. As long as enough people are willing to go along with starting a war it is OK. Tell me, who did Libya attack besides his own people? What threat did he pose to any other country? I just love liberals and the way they can rationalize anything.

I think what's pretty obvious is that you want to make out that what happened in Iraq and what is currently happening in Libya are exactly the same thing.

It seems to be the case that in your eyes unless people who opposed the Iraq war are against every war (and presumably want western governments to disband their military) that they are some sort of hypocrite.

It's a pretty shallow opinion you're putting out here. Not to mention dishonest.

They loved a dictator. Right....

I take it that your sarcasm meter wasn't turned on?

BTW...why return to Fishdude? Wasn't that your original alter ego on VJ?

I take it that your sarcasm meter wasn't turned on.

When you appear to suggest that people who opposed the Iraq war did so for partisan reasons - I don't think you can reasonably expect people to read irony or sarcasm into anything you say.

I was against the war in Iraq as a matter of fact. And at least Iraq had a track record of attacking other countries. The dishonesty here is yours if you think we have any business getting involved. If the goal here is to stop innocence getting killed why aren't we in any number of other African countries? Why don't we start bombing N Korea? No, the only reason most here are not throwing the same fit that they did when Bush invaded Iraq is because a president they like is in the WH. At least be honest enough to admit it, it is obvious to everyone.

As I say - it's clear you are unable to look at any issue without bringing in partisan politics.

Anyone would think from reading your posts that you have no grasp on world events prior to the Iraq war.

And it is clear from reading your posts you are lying to yourself. Partisanship is very much in play here. I am very well versed on events prior to the Iraq war BTW. You cannot sit there and tell me that if Bush were still in the WH and he reacted exactly the same way as Obama you wouldn't be throwing a hissy fit right now. I didn't want us in Iraq and I don't want us in Libya. We have no business in either place.

Oh you're "very well versed" in world events are you? That's obviously why you're trying to pretend that public opinion about international military action starts and ends with iraq.

I can sit here and say anything I like, but if you seriously can't understand that there's more to people's views than the occupant of the white house - there's not much to talk about.

As I say - I blame the US education system and the crappy news media.

You assume a lot dude. I never said anything about "public opinion about international military action starts and ends with iraq". I just pointed out that people like yourself wanted to run Bush out on a rail while at the same time it is OK to attack Libya. Even though I didn't like going into Iraq I can say there was more justification than there is for attacking Libya. You are being dishonest and your swipe at the US education system is disingenuous in the extreme. What the hell does that have to do with your lying to yourself?

Hmmm I see. So it's ok for you to make assumptions, but not OK for me to do the same.

At least my assumptions arise from the direct implication of your words. My assumptions are reasonable. Yours are not.

And your partisanship is obvious to all. Enough said dude, have a nice day.
