Ya, I've never thought of my husband as an ####### in some sense. He's truly a class act.

Hon, you will do as you want, and I certainly and without equivocation wish you and your family the very best.

M4E, welcome back! How can I come here and not pick on American women? It's like shooting fish in a barrel

Isn't there irony though saying that those who spend the majority of their time in an online relationships with their SO thus far don't really know their SO? By that logic it also negates all their own online relationships, with people for example on VJ, and how they judge them based on online posts with almost absolute certainty that is who that person is because they spend a lot of time reading about them and communicating on the boards with them and others. Sure some meetup regularly with those in their area and get to know a person or a couple but even that could be compared to the communication and time spent face to face with a ones SO.

How can one speculate about the authenticity of another couples relationship spent online with a few visits in person vs face to face, "they're here living together," communication when they are only getting information about it from an person they know from online themselves? Also from what the recent relationship poll indicates the vast majority sharing here are only half the story.

Edited to define face to face.

Olivia, it is so nice to see you more active in posting lately... I always enjoy reading your posts!

I'm a loser who has no life offline, and have met many people in person that I've originally met online. I sometimes joke that I have no real world friends. But these are people that I maintain friendships with, not people I live with 24/7. I'm certain they're my friends, but if we lived together all the time, I'd learn a whole droyk* of a lot more about these people than I know through our hanging out together.

Stang**, I lived with my best friend after college. We'd been best friends for 11 years. And knew a whole lot more about her when I moved out than when I moved in and she drove me barvy*** along the way

From my own, humble experience living with AbuS after knowing him online for 4 years, I "knew" him well in theory, but put into practice, I didn't really know him at all.

I've decided to use expletives only from the SW EU. Just because I can.

No, Resha, not every man is an "a-hole." My husband, my father, my brothers, my husband's father and brothers, and so many more - none of them are "a-holes." It makes me sad to think about what kind of experiences in your life could have led you to such a conclusion. And it disturbs me that you would want to remain married to a man that you describe in this way.

Anyway - as I said before - no one can decide how you will accept being treated except you. I don't believe that anyone here wishes you any ill or any more pain - I think we all wish you and your daughter a happy and safe life. You said you are in counseling, which is a very good start. But please remember that it takes two to make a marriage work, no matter how hard one person may try. Your husband needs counseling as well. He (and you !) have to do a lot more than just be willing to change - you both have to make the effort to actually change.

Treating each other with respect is the foundation of a successful marriage, and it's a two-way street. If you really think your marriage can be repaired, remember that referring to your husband in terms like "a-hole" is not respectful - even if it wasn't said to his face, or only said in anger and frustration.

I do wish you and your family the best.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, there are worse things in life than being single.

i think it was dear abby that said "it's better to be alone than wish you were."

Are you trying to steal my thunder Charles?:bonk:

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
