Right birth certificate in Nigeria

Can anyone in the Nigerian forum point us in the right direction regarding type of birth cerificate is accepted at the embassy and where to get one.

She currently has one but how do you know if it's the right one. I have heard of short and long one..confusing

It seems my finace has a short one but where do we get the right one and how do you know when you have the right size?

She would get it from the LGA where she is born. Short form birth certificates usually only have limited information about the child and the parents where the long form fully identifies the child parents. It usually carries such information as the parents address , marital status , race , birthplace and their date of birth. It is useful later when they want to have a reference if you petition your parents.

Yes it should be the long form. I heard it takes a few days to get it and can cost around 10,000 naira.
