Police Clearance from Dubai & Philippines

For a Filipino living in Dubai, and interviewing for a K-1 visa in UAE, it says we need police clearance. Anyone know if that would be NBI in Philippines, or local police, or both? Also, do we get local police clearance in UAE or something else?

BOTH

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

moving thread to consulate forum

YMMV

Ms. Angel, so i dont need a (local) police clearance from philippines? NBI Clearance will be enough?

The NBI clearance from Philippines and the police clearance from Dubai (or whatever emirate you live in) are all you need. You do not need the local police clearance from Philippines.

Asad- Yes, you are going to need a new police certificate.

You definitely need a police certificate from the local police station- I believe there is one on Naif Rd in Dubai called the Naif Police Station. You will also need one for living in the Philippines.

Asad,

I did not have to submit my passport at the Embassy level because I am the petitioner. They requested a copy of my fiance's passport and looked at the passport, but they didn't keep it. The CO told us we were fine, but needed to go through some more additional processing.
