AOS Returned - Incorrect Check. Question about resubmitting

Hello Everyone -

My I-751 was just returned because I wrote a check for $595 and not $590.

I'm done with the requisite kicking of myself in the face.

I have about 40 days left before my window expires. I'm planning to send this resubmition ASAP. (Obviously.)

Before I do, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Here is my concern...

It looks like this packet was begun to be processed for example:

*the check is stamped "For Deposit only" and was attached to my packet.

*The packet is bound together by those things that USCIS uses (you know the ones, with the two holes on top)

*There is writing on my form (in the boxes that say for USCIS use only)

My question

Should I resubmit a "clean" I-751 form or just attach a new check to this packet the way it was returned to me?

Should I keep the old (bad) check stapled to the front and just write void on it or should I take it off?

The only guidence I have received from the letter is that the letter states that the form was returned for an incorrect check, and that I should return the notice with the packet when I send it back.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Any help is appreciated.

send the whole thing back as it was sent to you. Do not remove or redo any forms. Only attach a new check.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

You mean your ROC (I751) package got returned and NOT AOS (I485).. Its in a wrong section. But anyhow...

When my AOS got rejected due to wrong version of form, I sent everything as is, except for the new version of the form.

you are right! wrong forum! can a moderator move this for me? I'm not sure how to move it. It is, yes, the ROC form. I am using the wrong terminology.
