just wondering if your guests have to arrive at the same time as you do, i am asking because my husband is taking the oath next wednesday and it says to arrive at 9:30am and that "a judge will preside at 12:30" i am guessing that everyone taking the oath that day has a lengthy check in process before the judge comes. can guests arrive later to watch the swearing in? i can't imagine the check in process is that interesting (also note we have a 2 year old coming...not sure he will behave for 3-4 hours!) someone told my husband it is a closed-door ceremony and everyone has to arrive at the start and thats that, but that seems strange to me. any help is appreciated!

I'm not sure if you can arrive at a later time. What i do remember is they had all friends and family members waiting in a cafeteria and they are called down into the ceremony room when the swearing is about to start. That way they can take pictures and observe the whole ceremony. I'm guessing they all arrive together.

I'm not sure which local office your oath ceremony is at (profile doesn't show anything) but at the seattle office, there were some applicants that called their friends/family after their interview and they showed up at about 12noon and were let in to the waiting area with the applicant. I imagine each office might be a little different.
