LOS ANGELES (AP) — Government experts in the United States are keeping a close eye on any radioactive particles that could travel from Japan, and they may already be seeing trace amounts.

A diplomat who has access to radiation tracking by the U.N.’s Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization told The Associated Press in Vienna that initial readings show tiny amounts of radiation have reached California.

If you have any potassium iodide, the going rate is pretty high. You could make good profit off a $20.00 bottle purchased before the quake.

I could go to the beach, and fill the back of the pickup with kelp. I wonder what the going rate is on fresh seaweed.

IDK, but I saw a couple KI packets going for $200 on-line.

I heard poison control is getting lots of calls from people taking those pills.

I'm sure, it's not without side effects - well taking small quantities of Kelp isn't harmful but some of the other potassium iodide products are pretty harsh. More people will get sick from dosing themselves without understanding what they are doing or trying to achieve than will ever be harmed by the minute amounts of radiation particles that will reach CA.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I read somewhere that there is more harmful radiation in those Jack-in-the-box burgers than what will actually rain down on people out West.
