Got 3 receipt notices today (I-797C) for AOS application. They all say the same thing, except for one that has additional information regarding "next steps"...that a biometrics appointment will be set up.

Is this usual to get 3 receipt notices of this type?? By the way, I also got 3 identical texts and 3 identical emails from them in the past few days.

Did you also file for an EAD and AP along with your AOS? If so then each of the NOAs relates to one of them. If not then it's just another USCIS stuff up lol

As the others have said, if you applied for AOS, EAD and Advance Parole, so you get 3 NOAS receipt (one for each). Check on the upper right of each NOA where state: CASE TYPE, it’s different on each NOA.

Oh ya, duh. :bonk: I didn't read that part. I did file for all three.

It's not that I was worried, just sorta confused. :P

please review each letter carefully, noting the receipt notice number or casefile #.

I'll betcha all 3 are different, as each one pertains to

--AOS

--AP

--EAD

respectively.

Now that you got 3 things in play , simultaneously, expect more fun with Biometrics at an ASC office. TWICE :D

I received an NOA for the I-485 and I-765 with the biometrics appointment on it. Likes others have mentioned, check the case number on the upper left of the notice. I received an e-mail that my notice was returned by the post office. So I am assuming that is for the I-131, hopefully I'll know when they resend it.

Has anybody else had problems with the USPS returning letters if addressed to a new occupant with a different lastname? I checked their website and it states that as long as a letter has the proper address it will be delivered. BS as I know of two returned letters and a supected third. I questions my local postoffice and they asked if her name was on the mailbox. So I guess postal workers take it upon themsleves to return properly addressed mail if they do not recognize the name. So I've learned another leason the hard way. So maybe this is one arguement for the wife using the married name.

re: postal mail -

--write a namecard, tape to inside and outside of any postal drop, box, slot.

--meet your postal carrier with freshly made cookies, mention the name for postal mail.

it all boils down to 'does the carrier working yer route know yer name' and you should really ensure that yer name is known to him/her/it/them.

cookies are great for 'memory retention', always.

I thought it was common knowledge in the US that you had to have your proper name on your mailbox (that's what I was told)... I had to put my name on my in-laws post box while we were living there because I had mail returned to sender. Apparently this is in case someone moves and the new tenant doesn't end up with 20 million different pieces of mail for people that don't live there anymore. Especially common in apartment buildings I'm told.
