Thanks to everyone who's signing and continue to recruit. We already have 70 signatures in one day and half of those are not from VJ. We shouldn't have any problem with the people just here of reaching a 1000 in a month. Thank you and continue to support. Also, let's continue to tweet, and tomorrow is the beginning of a new week. Let's send in enough notices to those in power to let them know that we start working on Monday, and it's a good week to begin on the Vermont Backlog!

My b-day is thursday and I'm going ask that all my FB friends sign that petition as a b-day gift :-)

BTW.. I think I might be violating some twitter rules or something.. because when I create Tweets in quick succession, they get posted to MY page, but they don't get posted to OUR K1Verrmonters page.

any ideas..?

Yeah, it's doing the same for me. Well, I think the next thing is to figure out what to do here. Today, I got three emails I think are from USCIS. I posted them in another thread and really I'm not sure what to do with them or why they're from CSC as I'm with VSC. Secondly, I did get an email from 2012 Twit. So I think the next thing people need to ask is what do we want from here. What can be the next steps. I'm going to be honest, I don't know how effective his ideas would be and in addition, I don't know where to direct it. I do know that many of us have said I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy and perhaps we can help the process. How can we tackle illegal immigration if our country can't even do a simple fiancee or marriage visa?!

So I'm going to post his email, and tell me what you all think. I think the bottom line is to see what we can jump off from Twitter and Petitioning and how to consolidate and strengthen that before branching out too quickly.

I'd be glad to help you with this. I've been doing Twitter programming

for a few years, and my son and I are interested in working on a

project to use Twitter for political activism. Your campaign comes at

exactly the right time for us. I can recommend some general things you

should do at first, and then work with you to grow this into an effort

that could focus a lot of attention on your goal. Getting results may

be harder, but I think you will be surprised at how quickly Twitter

can collect a lot of people behind an idea as compelling as yours. We

can work with you on this for no charge. We'll learn a lot, and it is

clearly a good cause.

[Perhaps build] a Wordpress blog for

k1vermonters.com. It can be at a webhost I know that charges $6 a

month. All the people working with you can write blog posts on this

site. This gives you a central base for collecting all your stories,

so you have a place to point people who want to work with you.

With these tools in place, we can come up with a plan to get people

involved on Twitter, and identify politicians and reporters who might

want to help you. There are a lot of Twitter tools that can be built

to magnify and focus your efforts. It will take time, but in a few

months you could have a good amount of visibility for your work.

Thank you! More importnatly thank you all for signing. That said, it does send a letter to your representative and then the complete petition, however, as mentioned once it hits the goal, I do plan on taking a copy to my representative's office and simply stating the problem with K-1 processing backlogs. If anyone else wants to help in other Federal districts, by all means!

Honestly, I don't think we'll make any change in time for it to really have an effect on my petition. But I think it's worth it to keep trying if we can make things better for those in the future. I'll keep participating in whatever anybody else chooses to do.

Do you have your twitter preferences set to "private"?? I had to change my privacy setting in order to have my tweets searchable with #k1vermonters. Check that and if you have it marked private, unmark it then you should show up.

If that doesn't work I have no idea what's going on.

Anybody notice the processing "leap" at VSC?

Monday it was set to be at 10/1/2010.... by end of business Monday, it was set at 10/4/2010... TEE HEE!

Coincidence...mmmaybe. But, then again, maybe not.
