A hidden gem. I wonder if Tex remembers this one?

Wow. That is a great gem you found there. He played with all the greats. Great musician and died too young. He moved to Texas in early 80's and I was introduced to him but only briefly at a Stevie Ray Vaughn club gig. My brief meeting he seemed very nice and kind.

Seen this band twice. Excellent shows.kicking.gif

Ronnie Lane was a great musician and he did play with some of the best, Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones, Ian McLagan, Rod Stewart, etc. I think your impression of him is correct. Everything I have read about him indicates that he was a good guy and a nice person. It was sad that he did die too young. Here's another of him with Rod Stewart and Faces.

He was a 'top notch' guy as we would call him in our parts. He was well received in Texas. One of the greats in Rock music. Great find there Spooky. Took me back almost 30 years.kicking.gif

I like to dig thru YouTube when I have time to find some of the rarer classics. Gotta love the talent.

Great talent indeed. It was no wonder though he came to live in Austin, Tx at that point in time though. Ton of talent in Austin during that time frame. Mid 70's to mid 80's Austin was the tops for music, at least to me anyway. It is late for tonight but will in the future peruse youtube and show you the talent I was exposed to. Quality meant something in music back then.good.gif
