if it's 2 weeks past the POE date -

hey - have him go in to any SSA office, fill out the application, ask for a lookup in the SAVE database,

then see what happens.

for other pertinent process/procedures/thoughts - use the advanced search tool here -

terms -> 'SSA SAVE'

Member Name -> 'Darnell'

then tick on 'view as posts'

Just a quick question...my husband recieved his Green Card in the mail the other day. On one of the applications, he applied to get a social security card...will this be coming in the mail as well?? if so, how long does it take??

when my kids applied for I-130 i fill out the application for their SSN card but when the kids got here i went to the SS office to apply for their card personally,,good thing i did coz it did not come in the mail as i expected.

Wait three weeks, if he doesn't receive the SSN card by then have him go into an SSA office. Have him take his Form I-551 (Green Card), passport and birth certificate if he has one handy.

Not sure when you got here, but at one time children under age 18 couldn't be assigned an SSN through enumeration at entry.
