I was wondering how many co sponsers you can have. I am getting my AOS packet together and seen something about only being able to have two. Is this correct?

Yeah that is correct, you can only have up to 2 co-sponsorships.

We first met online 2004, but things started to get serious in Dec 2007. Made my first visit to the USA in march 2008 for 2 weeks. Then returned again in Aug 2008 for 3 months.. Then i came back to the UK for 5 months to return back to the USA April 2009 for another 3months.

That's correct also!!

How many persons are immigrating? Each person completing an I-864 has to earn enough to cover the sponsorship. No adding together of these incomes.

Anh map is right. You must sponsor your husband. If you cannot meet the requirements you may have ONE joint sponsor who must be able to fully meet the requirements. If there was MORE THAN ONE immigrant, you could have TWO joint sponsors who could separately sponsor the immigrants: ie one sponsor could sponsor the husband and two kids, and the other sponsor could sponsor the other four children.

You CAN include household members though. So if one of your possible joint sponsors has a spouse or child living in their house who also earns, they may be your best bet.

One of them would be the co-sponsor, do they file taxes separately or together ?

If they file taxes together then let your mother be the co-sponsor and she would sign form I-864A, then you will be alright :thumbs:

You fill out I-864 as sponsor. Because you live in the house with mom and step-dad, you can add their incomes to your I-864 under the part for family members income. So the income on your form is the total of you + mom + s'dad. They each do an I-864A which says they give permission for you to use there income and agree to be held responsible for the immigrant too. They're evidence of income and citizenship has to be included.

OR

You fill out I-864 as sponsor.

Mom fills out I-864 and adds s'dad's income as her family member. Her I-864 total is mom + s'dad and must be enough to meet the required amount. S'dad does an I-864A giving mom permission to include his income and gives his pledge to be responsible for the immigrant. They're evidence of income and citizenship has to be included. They don't each have to make over the limit by themselves. It is the total of the household.

You complete an I-864 and include all supporting documentation. Have one parent complete an I-864 and the other (if their income is needed) completes an I-864A.

If one parent's individual income is sufficient to cover their household, plus any dependents, plus the intending immigrant then the I-864A should not be needed. There have been some cases where a CO will want to see an I-864A from a spouse as an acknowledgement that they are aware of the other spouse undertaking the I-864 obligation. So to cover any eventuality you could go ahead and have one do the 864 and the other do the 864A.

my mom only makes 16k a year my stepdad makes about 60k a year.
