Average wait time for calling NVC

I know I just got my NOA2 approved Monday and I'm not planning on calling until I recieve the NOA2 hard copy (unless it takes forever to come).

I've used the search feature but most topics don't really say 'when' to start calling for the DOS Case number and most deal with K-3, CR1s/IR1s.

On average how long should I wait after NOA2 approval to begin calling the NVC about the case # and date it was sent to the embassy?

I think that you should call right on the day when you get your hard copy of NOA2. For me, I got the hard copy on Feb 28 and when I called found out that they received it on Feb 28 too.

Our case arrived at NVC after 9 days but I started calling after 3 or 4. Every time I called I was told to wait and call back the following week because it hadn't been enough time since NOA2. I would suggest waiting a week. I know it's great to know where your case is and all, but calling everyday only to learn that it hasn't arrived really sucks. Anyway, best wishes for a speedy process from here on out.

The folks at the NVC and DoS can't usually help you until you have the new case number (that doesn't start with WAC/EAC) and that new case number is on the NOA2. You can call any time you'd like after that though - it'll sure put your mind at ease to have access to new information every few days (if all goes well!).

I started calling maybe five days after my NOA2.

our NOA2 came through on 1st march and NVC still have no record of our paperwork.
