Damnit..wont let me edit..

And to think my K1 took almost a year..when the processing times were 3 months back then. Then my AOS took another 9 months. It just made my relationship with my husband that much stronger. And yes i called congress 3 times or more and wrote letters and made a ton of long distance phone calls.

Funny enough, our anniversary is in a few weeks. and its almost like immigration never happend. The last year just went by so fast.

OP, hang in there, looking like your wait is almost over. Once approved, you guys will be bombarded by a whole new set of issues and tasks that will make the wait seem smaller than it is now --- as it has for so many others who have gone through the process.

I find it amazing that some feel it is their place to accuse another for their feelings…

And those who have forgotten how it felt during their time spent in the waiting game…

Or those who have blessed themselves as experts on what exactly occurs behind the walls of USCIS…

And those who spend their time lambasting another for their opinions when they themselves are clueless…

Or those who just want to feel like somebody by belittling another who has expressed their frustration.

There are some really helpful folks in this community who have some great advice and meaningful opinions… and then there are others who think they are immigration pros behind a keyboard dishing out narrow minded, misguided opinions and thinking everyone should think like them… after all, they filed and eventually got approved.

I can understand wanting the process done faster but the last thing we need is more lazy Government workers lets start by having the lazy non working ones fired and replaced with workers who will work. Fire a couple of people I think that would motivate the rest to do there jobs in a timely matter. Believe it or not bigger government makes slower workers. Try dealing with another government with half the workers and people who have to work to keep their jobs it goes alot faster. Our government worker are just spoiled over paid non working sloths with the exception of a very few.

You're trying to simplify it WAY too much.

As I said, what you see here on VJ is only a very very small sampling of the amount of people applying.

K1's aren't the only type of Visa either.

These people do work hard and are constantly busy. They keep having to add staff to make the wait times better and THEY ARE better compared to a few years ago.

As stated before there again, this is not a right. Therefore as not being such, there is going to be alot of red tape.

Way to overgeneralize and stereotype. Be careful here because you don't know who here may work for the government and who doesn't. You don't know (and probably don't care) who you're insulting.

Hey, government workers go through this process as well.

Don't be a jerk to an entire group of people who are just doing their jobs... jsut because you're an impatient child who wants to throw a fit.

Man, I don't see how any government workers would want to work on your petition any faster now that you've simply insulted them. Lord knows I'd toss your petition to the bottom of the pile cause you're sure as heck not going to appreciate the work when it's done.

I personally don't think poorly of the workers but I do detest the system. Unfortunately even the best employees couldn't work well enough when spread so thin. That being said, nobody should sit back and be complacent when the VSC is at such a standstill. They need to take the necessary measures to ensure the petitions get done within processing times. Maybe opening another center, letting the local centers have branches dealing with the K-1's or hiring more adjudicators could be some primary steps at fixing the long wait. I hope nobody would "toss" the petition of anyone else to the bottom of the pile just for being upset with the system and how crazy it has become. I am a firm believer that for the most part people do their best with the systems they work under. Fix the system and the people working it will continue to do their best and be able to do their jobs more quickly and efficiently.

Not being a Jerk but thank you maybe if you read the whole statement I did not say all, there are a few decent ones and yes i know government workers go threw the same process. Majority of my family works for the government as military, police, FBI, Caltrans, and even a district attorney. So if someone wants to deny my k1 visa request because they got there feelings hurt and can not understand the difference between some and all or even a majority or all then that is up to them and means they are not doing there job properly and abusing there powers as a government worker which is grounds for termination. I would never want anyone to lose a job over something stupid but I do not respond to threats very well either. So if you are one who got there feeling hurt. You should know over more then 70% of Americans feel the same. And you might be in the wrong business. If not i respect your opinion would not call you a jerk for it, after all it is your right as a American or American citizen to speak your mind. I guess unless you say something that is unpopular then it is not my right to speak my mind. Makes me wonder why I even served in the U.S. Army and fought in Desert Storm just to be told i can not have or voice my opinion. Have a nice day . Daniel

I don't like the system either. However, I won't be a jerk to a bunch of people who are going to do him a favor by working on his petition.

It's like supporting and praying for the troops, but hating the war. They are just following orders.

Hate on the system all you want, but don't be a jerk to the workers. They are doing what their boss tells them to, and going to work on the petitions. (If it were my choice, I wouldn't work on any petitions at all when the person verbally insults me. Good thing it's not my choice, right?)

Speak your mind all you want. I'm not telling you to 'not speak'. I am also not telling you that you cannot have your opinion. However, be prepared to have people disagree with you.

As a soldier (past or present), I'm sure you would understand the thought. How would you feel is people were insulting the soldiers because they hated the war? It's like Vietnam... the way the soldiers were treated upon their return to the State is appalling.

Also, you don't know where I am employed, and honestly, it's none of your concern. So you worry about your own job, and not about mine. (And where are the statistics that '70% of Americans feel this way'? I think I missed that memo.)

Hate the system, not the workers. It's not their fault.

Ok I am not here to make any one mad again sorry if my opinion you do not like but this is America you have just as much right to your own opinion. Now instead of going back and forth about this we can agree to disagree and I will be the bigger person and say I am sorry you do not like my opinion and if I offended you in any way I did not mean to. And if I was a "JERK" well that is your opinion right. I would not lower myself to a level to call you a name, I do not know maybe you are a government work and your offended maybe you are one of the good ones as I pointed out I dont know. I hope you have a nice rest of your day and this can be behind us I wish you all the luck in your journey and for a speedy process. Daniel

Ugh, I did not call you a 'jerk'. I said "Don't be a jerk", not "you are a jerk." But I'm not going to argue English with you.

Either way, I don't need an apology from you.

I am still shocked that a 'soldier' would hate the workers, when it's the system that you should hate. I'm sure people that hate the soldiers instead of the war insult you. You would have the same reaction. It's like saying "oh, all those soldiers are hateful killers" or something. (I don't agree with that statement, but it was an example.) I'm sure your response would be that soliders are following orders and it's the war that is the problem.

I'm fine to 'agree to disagree'. My opinion is 'hate the system, not the worker' and I guess yours is 'hate the system AND the worker'. Good luck with that one.
