I am assembling the I-129F package and I was about to photocopy my birth certificate when I notice mine only has a front and no back. It is the same with my brother (who was born 2 years later than me, although his certificate was different size).. I guess it's different for every year, or maybe mine isn't the original original? I asked my parents and this is what they gave them.... So is it still okay just to photocopy the front? It has everything including the signatures from the mayor/commissioner/registrar. Anyone else ever have this problem? Thanks.

Many birth certificates have no information on the back, mine included. I sent the front photocopy only.

Most here suggest sending a copy of the blank backside. Suggest you do that, and write on there that it is blank.

Not a big deal, really. Good luck!!!

Haha.. Of course your BC has a back. Any piece of paper has a back if it has a front. :P

What you mean is that there's nothing written on the back. :D

That is fine. There have been others with nothing on the back of their BCs.

Just make sure you state so, even if it is just to submit a blank page and stating so on that blank page.

Oh I see, hehe...silly me. Should I just state it on the same page saying "There is nothing written in the back of the birth certificate." Maybe like right below my front? Thanks again.

I photocopied the back, and a slight image of the official seal came through.

At the bottom I just wrote " (photocopy of back side of birth certificate) "

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

Yes, you can do that, or on a seperate blank page stating so.

Good luck!

Mine was from CO and only had a front as well. I wrote, nothing on the back on my copy when I submitted it.

You should be fine, although I recommend spelling it out for the adjudicator.

Kabigon,

Make a photocopy of the front of your BC. Turn both the origianl BC and the photocopy over. Do you not also have an exact duplicate of the back of your BC?

If you feel uncomfortable about this, follow the advice that others have offered and write on the back of your photocopy "this side blank on the original".

William et.al.,

What have you got against trees? Double-sided photocopies are quite acceptable, including when there is information on the back side of a document. There's no need to waste good paper when there isn't.
