I agree with you - we live in a global world and Japan's collapse would be bad for everyone.

It sounds like economically the impact will be small on Japan's private sector, however the government costs will be crippling.

If we hadn't run all the manufacturing out of this country with "tax on business" we could sell them a lot of stuff to fix things.

I have been in construction for 35 years and when I see this stuff I think..."oh someone's got to fix that" 20 years ago I'd have been packing my bags, even 10 years ago.

Big salaries, big bonuses, tax free (for the most part) and the adventure of living in a foreign country and going through a disastaer and recovering from it. It is as exciting as getting shot at and missed.

I'm telling you, a young man can go there for a few years come back and buy a house cash.
