Question about how to send evidence?

Hello all,

Praise the Lord we finally got our NOA2, so now I am in the process of compiling all the additional information I need to send to my fiance along with the packet that has a copy of all the information I sent for the I-129F packet to her. In looking at the K1 guide on this site, it has a LOT of awesome help and information which has been invaluable to me, but this line has me confused and I am looking for some guidance to item #2 in their guide which I will quote here:

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

So there are many things from the I-129F packet that have no originals like history of emails, chats, and things like that that I cannot send the original on unless I ship them my computer, so I understand they will just accept I'm sure my copies of the printed logs and such. The question that is bothering me is am I supposed to send an original of my birth certificate to them? I cannot send my passport which I used as evidence also, so I will be keeping that of course. What about all the receipts from when I was overseas to be with my fiance...should I send all the originals of the receipts, even though I have photocopied them all? My concern is if I send all the originals, then what happens if heaven forbid there is a natural disaster like Japan has had and while my document packet is in transit it gets lost or destroyed, and now I have lost all of my original proofs of evidence? Are photocopies of birth certificate, passport, receipts and such acceptable, or what really needs to be sent as original? I'm just really concerned about this and looking for help to see what others of you out there have done to help guide me as I prepare my document packet to send to my fiance.... :) Of course I have signed originals of all forms, so no copies of them, just the other things worry me.

Thanks in advance for your time and help! :)

Original government issued documents. Original cards etc. Things that will be used at the interview as proof. They must also have copys to go along with the original because the embassy will keep the copy and give the original back.

make copies of the originals, you keep the originals for the interview,..only send copies, copy of your passport bio page in color copy.

Thanks for the reply, but now I'm confused. I am here in the USA, my fiance is in the Philippines. It was my understanding that she is the one who has the interview at the US Embassy in the Philippines, and that I will not be interviewed, is this correct? If so, then why would you say for me to keep the originals for the interview? And should I send her originals of the NOA letters as well as receipts and such? Just trying to understand the process, and it seems I'm a little confused now.

Thanks again for your help! :)

Yes, your fiancée will be the one to go to the US Embassy in Manila for an interview. But before that she have to go get her medical done a week before the interview. The CO has the right to ask for the original copy, so its better if your fiancee has the original copy with her during the interview just in case they asked. FedEx is a reliable courier. No worries!:)

copies on I-129F submittal, originals on interview day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

copies on I-129F submittal, originals on interview day.

I have already filed all of my paperwork on the I-129F and did send copies of all documentation to them at that time, but what is frustrating me is that I don't understand what needs to be originals when I send it to my fiancee? What from my I-129F packet is supposed to be an original? I can send an original I-129F document that I fill out and sign, as well as an original I-134, but do I send the original letters for my NOA1 and NOA2 to her, as well as an original birth certificate that is notarized, I cannot send my original passport, do I send all my original receipts for proof of being in the Philippines??????????? Or is everything I send to my fiancee just need to be copies except for maybe the forms/applications, and then all of the documentation my fiancee is required to have needs to be original? To me, this is just really frustrating to sort out what is supposed to be original, and what can just be a copy, and I cannot find much information in the forums addressing this question, so maybe I'm the only one confused?

Any clarification on what you guys have done or what is supposed to be done with details would be most helpful to me, as just saying send originals does not clarify anything for me.

Part of the driving reason this question is just soooo important to me also is that I don't want to send any original documents that I don't need to, because if there were to be some kind of natural disaster or other occurrence while shipping or while she has those original documents, and they are lost or destroyed somehow, then I have no way of ever being able to produce some of those documents again, so I really don't want to send anything original that is not necessary, just so I retain as much as possible all of the original evidence for future filing reasons, or to resend of she were to lose any of the information somehow, or it got stolen from her home, or a typhoon came, or just any other of many other things that could happen that would destroy one time only documentation I cannot send again if it is lost.

Thanks for all the attempts to help thus far though! :)

Original US birth cert Original, US divorce decree. Original cards and physical mails. Colour copy of NOA2.

I made copys of each one every page. Brought the original and the copy to my interview. They looked at both originals and copys and kept the copys giving the originals back to me. I brought the originals back to the US when I moved.

Ok, that helps me a little more. So you just sent color copies of the NOA1 and NOA2 then, and not originals? I do have some original cards, so I will need to send them to her then I guess. Since I am here in the USA, do I have to be interviewed as well? I thought it was just my fiancee that was the one who would be interviewed?

No the USC does not usually have an interview. Some countrys allow the USC to go to the interview with the fiance some don't but it is not a requirement.

You don't need to send a copy of the NOA1 just a copy of the NOA2 the approval notice.
