you'd also have to enforce noise codes and no one want to do that.

I've walked over to a few people in the movie theatres before and told them to 'shut the f-up.'

The look on their faces is priceless and they are offended, but it gets them to shut up.

Sarcasm aside, given so many Americans have a constant bug up their rear end about being the one with the last word, I doubt a confrontation wouldn't ensue from bluntly 'getting all up in their face'...

I do know of several theaters that have an employee dedicated to 'spelling out' the rules before a show. And it worked.
