Service Request Results :(

Ok so this is now the second service request I have put in and I received an email today with the following response:

"The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

Now keep in mind that my petition was received on Sept 10, 2010. So, I have been waiting for 6 months and 1 week. I'm absolutely appalled that they want me to wait 60 more days. I am NOT by any means "HATING" on those that have already received their approval but this is really unfair and just not right. You patiently wait 5 months without bugging them or anything and then when ur 5 months are over they want you to wait longer. I'm really disappointed in this whole process. Since putting in my petition have traveled 2x's and next week will be my third. I can no longer be away from my man. I'm seriously considering moving to Dom. Rep.

Has anyone received this response for a service request? And is so how long after this response did you get ur approval? Did you really have to wait 60 days?

I know it sounds crazy to "just wait" but its part of the process. You are actually lucky because a few years ago the wait time was longer. Some people had to wait over a year. Since you already hit the 6 month mark your wait shouldn't be much longer in comparison to others with similar timelines. My fiancee (now wife) hand her visa in hand in 6 months total. I think most cases are still being processed at this rate or close to it. What I noticed is that people are waiting longer for their NOA2's but their interviews are being scheduled sooner. Unfortunately, problems/delays will occur somewhere since there are 2 different factors that you are forced to rely on. After you wait for USCIS (to approve the petition) you have wait again for the Embassy to schedule your interview.

my thoughts for you is to be proactive (which you are) and think and prepare for things that are in the near future. Hopefully, this will help you get your mind off of things. I wish you the best on your journey. Stay positive!

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

I've tried to put in a service request but so far no luck. The first time I called I was told that VSC's estimated processing time is 6 months, not 5 as stated on the uscis website. The agent told me that because my petition has only been pending 5 months I should call back in a month and then try to put in the service request because my case would not be considered overdue until it's been pending 6 months. According to their records (this was last Friday, Oct 11) they were currently looking at cases received on Sept 11, 2010.

I of course was not about to wait another month to call back. I called again today and this time around the agent said that my case was past the normal 5 month processing timeframe (these people need to get it together! is it 5 months or is it 6?!?!) and asked if I wanted to put in a service request. I said I would but when she checked the system it says they are working on cases received Sept 25, 2010. She suggested I wait 17 days and call again to put in the service request.

Am I going to wait 17 days?...I don't think so. Maybe when I call next week they'll finally put in the service request, but from the looks of it not even that will help! I've also made 3 trips already since I filed my petition. I can't afford to go again until the interview...whenever that is and if it ever happens...who knows at this point.

I called and got my first service request befor I even reached my 5months....i believe i still had a week and a half to the 5months and they put it in for me...i didnt even know about a service request i was just calling to check on the petition and the rep suggested i put one in. Keep callin for your sake and ur spouses sake. Good luck!

Yeah, my husband keeps nagging me everyday, asking if I've called them or not. He was all cool, calm and collected throughout the entire process but now his patience is starting to wear thin...as is mine.

I hope that they don't make you wait much longer. Good luck to you as well :)

Timeline

I have figured out that there is no rhyme or reason as to how they process visas....could it be that one person is looking for a case to expedite so they go thru the entire box figuring might as well get this done too? I mean we've been on here since Nov with no way to see anything going on...we didnt get our case updated on the uscis case status...at all!!! so ive called every two weeks and then finally on march 15th i called and talked to tier 2 (bcos tier 1 NEVER saw us in system) and told him just wondered where we were wanted something to give husband for bday gift...so he said well happyy bday and it says your case hs been pulled for review...and yesterday afternoon they finally put it in the online system!!!

You're right...as we also pull for everybody else we also want so desperately to be togehter...no couple is most important but we are most important to eachother...saying be patient gets old...waiting to see anything bcomes almost an addiction...it envelopes your life...its all you think about ...its like a drug.. :(

My husband and i have a wonderful relationship and can talk for hours about absolutely nothing...and continue the conversation until morning happily...but now this is all we talk about... ready to move forward and talk about how to get his drives license...how to get from our apartment to my work to pick me up or the school to get the girls when they are sick...lol OR How to get to the florist to pick up some flowers for me :P im ready for the living together converstations!!!!!

INSHALLAH we will all SEE or HEAR something about our cases soon!!! Good luck to you all!!!
