Going to Kiev in 7 days, any tips?

Hey thanks Gary. Yeah.. I really doubt I'm gonna see anyone else but my girl, specially if she has her way I just asked the agency to check because they were recommending that while in Kiev, I can drop by the office and meet others and have a backup plan. I'm pretty sure my girl won't let me get too far away. She wanted to meet at the airport to make sure I made to my flat ok, but my apartment has a car service. So she's gonna wait at the flat. During the past few months, we talked about many many serious future subjects and I think we'll be fine unless we had a total failure first meeting. Her English is broken a bit, understandable but the way she talks drives me INSANE. I could listen to it all day and not understand a word she says but still sounds soooo good! I told her I can manage on my own while she's at work but she insists her roommate, who happens to be 27 and smoking hot as well and speaks good English, will keep me company during the afternoons while my girl's at work. I'm gonna pick up a padlock anyway, just in case. I think it's good idea, kind of like that American "key to your heart thing." And yeah, my girl is definitely marriage minded. She's ready for kids and being a mom and all that. I think most agency girls over 25 are thinking marriage. I think the younger ones are just playing. She's 26 and I think at that age they start thinking about starting the family. I have another trip planned for August, to meet the parents if all goes well next week. Her father is actually 15 years older than her mom, she said our age difference won't bother them at all, long as she has a good man. She's from Mariupol, so we'd be heading out there in August for a few days. I think in the big picture, (just thinking ahead) if we hit it off next week, then by August when I return from 2nd trip, you guys will be hearing me with talk of petition filed, NOA1, NOA2..and why is Vermont so FN slooooowwwwww...all over again...

Please don't take this post as an insult because I understand you have feelings for this gal. But if there'a chance to bag her and the roommate and it's cool with with both of them...well you would be doing mankind a terrible disservice if you didn't take advantage of the moment so to say. If anything it could very well enhance your relationship as far as having some great knockout sex with two hot sexy RUB chicks at the same time.

If it does end up like that, just make sure to give give your fiancée a little extra attention so she know's she's still #1. In other words, make sure you kiss her first.

I'm being dead serious. Kira's best friend and former university classmate...who I had talked to a few times on Google Talk, came down from Vitebsk to spend a few days with us in Minsk while I was there. I was going to run down the to the bank machine to grab some money and Kira said have Marina go with me just in case I ran into any kind of trouble. Well at first I thought it was a set up. So that evening we went clubbing and I ended up dancing with Marina a few times and it was like "wow"...but I was still careful for the fact I was still thinking "set up". Ya, so when we got back to the apt...it was no set up. In fact Marina came down a week later and stayed with us for another three days.

They key to this story is I made sure I didn't do anything stupid without knowing the score first. You want to make sure you know all the rules of the playing field before you make that first play. I learned that the hard way years ago with the ex.

That definition is very different there than here!

You will/may also find out your lady is more than capable of making your heart beat very fast.

As others have stated, hang on, you will be in the most intense relationship you have ever been involved with.

I don't know much about looking for a husband/wife on the net, but it really is beyond me how you can be dead sure that somebody you've been chatting to online can be THE ONE before seeing them in person. I mean.. really... how? It's easy to pretend somebody you're not when you talk over the internet.

Just to be clear: I'm not talking about the cases when you have already met, but you have to stay in touch over the net - that's typical for LDR, but when you have been chatting online, how can you know that the person is sincere and you will make a great couple?

No, I agree you can not be sure they are the ONE but you can do a very good job of coming very close to that. It all depends on how honest the two are and the extent and content of their communication.

Since we couldn't be together and meet in person and hop in the back seat and steam up the windows, all we could do was talk. And talk we did. Lots of it; probably more than any other person I've been in a relationship with. Many folks approach internet dating like they date at home. It is or can be very different.

As far as skeptics, we don't want to get into the wonderful "mail order bride" "GCC" comments from my family, friends and band mates. My dad says "What's wrong with American girls?, Try one ya might like em!" I think the women friends I have by far have given me the worse comments about girls from FSU (they tend to include the words trashy and ####### in their descriptions and most have never met an FSU girl). Most of the guys make snipe little comments about young hotties..but the women comments can be vicious... One of my women friends even said, "you know 9 out 10 Russian girls marry an American for a green card?" I said, where'd ya get from? She said it's common knowledge...I used to think this girl was smart...

The women will diss her more. Your family will become very enamored of her, her culture, her intelligence, her being just the opposite of what they thought, she's a real woman and very remarkable.

Yep, my family, especially my mother, who was very skeptical about the whole thing from the beginning, now just loves Alla.

She is just enamored with her energy, her drive, her intelligence and ability to learn quickly.....I told you she was a remarkable woman Mom??!!!

And she is totally dedicated to her new family, her son and most importantly her husband. GC my butt, she's here for me! I am so much in trouble....I love it. And love her too.

Normal. Alla uses that word a lot. A stunning knockout woman is "normal" Last night we were driving through Burlington and a man, obviously drunk, was staggering down the middle of the street. (it was St Pat's day, he is probably Irish) and Alla said "It is the first normal man I have seen in Vermont"
