I've spent some considerable time in a "RUB" country, and for the most part the stuff you see there is almost exactly like anything you'd see in Europe. There really nothing special or strange about dance/strip clubs in former Soviet countries that doesn't exist anywhere else in Europe. That's about as "blurred" as it gets.

How is the dance/strip scene in Europe different from here? I've only been to dance or strip clubs in the U.S. and Mexico.

Do they really get blurred? I've been to lots of dance clubs and strip clubs in the U.S. and they're not the same thing. If there's a stage in the middle with a bunch of guys sitting around the perimeter staring at those bouncing titties, you're not in any dance club I've ever seen. If a girl sits down next to you, starts discreetly rubbing your crotch with her hands and asks you to go to VIP with her for only $300 for 30 minutes, you're not in a dance club. You're at a strip club. They're very, very different here in the U.S.

What are the similarities in the Ukraine?

In the dance clubs it was quite common for a lot of clothes to come off and there was some wild stuff happening on the dance floor and at tables. They were not "performing" for the crowd so to speak. Lets just say you will likely see titties or more at either place. It doesn't cost $300 and there is no private room. The effin' techno music makes me crazy though!

There's a upscale club in Minsk called "The Madison Club"...it even has a bowling alley in it along with a pond and bridge. But the best part of that place is the two tier dance floor with mirrored floors. Mini skirts and no panty's ftw. I spent a lot of time looking at the floor.

And ya, techno is nothing short of H*ll if there is a h*ll. How someone can listen to that ####### is beyond me. And Euro's...who have like zero taste in music other than the Brits imo, love that #######.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

also,as I mentioned, a lot of places have the "go-go" dancers for lack of better term. Why_Me came up with a good name for them. Some are in bikinis or lingerie and some are topless, I never saw any totally nude. These are just sports bars and such, pool halls, even electronics stores! The average Ukrainian woman has seen them and isn't offended, but they are usually not the best places for first dates.

Yes. And the clubs put out ad booklets that always some plenty of tits and #### action in their club. Very often there was no question about "your place or mine" it was "why not do it right here, right now?"

Go go dancers seem to be a big hit in RUB country's..for obvious reasons of course. They look hot, and RUB peeps aren't stuck up like the do nothing no lifers here.

I took a gamble (or so I thought) after day #3 in Minsk with Kira and went out dancing and then to a strip club....I mean every guy has to know one way or another if his wife, gf, whatever is into the wild scene...whether it be with a few extra chicks, getting a table dance from a guy, or gal for that matter...whatever. So ya, I hit a home run that night so to say. Things got even better when her university friend from Vitebsk stayed with us for a few days...but that's another story, and not for this board. :)

I have found that many, if not most, and more than American women are quite "versatile". Again. not first date stuff.

Thanks guys!! Awesome replies as usual. Yes, I am going mainly to meet one girl and she has a little planned schedule for us. She's taking the weekend off from work. I guess they work almost every day there. She's into museums and such and said we will spend the weekend seeing museums and walking in Dnipro park. I think there's a short cruise she mentioned on the river and something about Lavra (sp?) monastary and Lovers Bridge. She's a history buff and loves telling me about Ukraine history. I am arriving Mar 25, Friday night and she will be waiting at my flat. I think she mentioned us going to her favorite place for borsch for dinner. I also have a backup plan (B and C) in case her and I just don't fit. We'll see how things go. She seems really sweet and honest and I'm keeping an open mind but a watchful eye. They'll be no shopping sprees, or expensive restaurants every night, or parties for all the friends on my wallet. She's an accountant and lives on her own. So she's aware of paying bills and doing the daily grind.

Hmmm Squat toilets. Yeah I got the joy of using one of those squatter toys in Taiwan. We just do what we gotta do sometimes. An old man walked in while I was way into it and he started laughing...and saying something in Chinese. Maybe I was in the wrong position or something...

Thanks for all the other suggestions. I'll be in Kiev until Apr 1 (a full week). The girl I'm going meet was originally going to meet me on Saturday (I arrive in Kiev Friday night at 5pm). Then I said, well when I get there, I'll just take a shower and go check out this pub called Eric's Bierstube as it's next to my flat. Well...she immediately did an about face and said oh no no no...I can't leave you alone in Kiev. She said something could happen. So she's going to wait for me at my flat. And then we'll go have some dinner and maybe hit a club. She mentioned having one of her friends keeping me company while she's at work. I think she wants to keep an eye on me... :hehe: I told her not to worry as I was considering a day trip to Cernobyl while she's at work. Her response...."why would ANYONE want to go near that evil place??"

As far as evil places, she also asked me to not ask her to go to that evil American place McDs. I told her don't worry, I don't do McDs over here, I doubt I want to eat it over there. I want to taste all the local stuff. Then she mentioned something about salty fish...mmmmmm kkkkkkk maybe I don't want to try everything.. :)

I do really go crazy over her accent. The way the words come out are very cute and sexy. I don't think she realizes at all, but I giggle every time she says something with a "w" or a "th" in it.

In my experience, the boys just ask. I find it much more polite than to be confronted with bouncing breasts and asked if it's my scene. But that's just me. :)

Well I've never been to a club in Kyiv where people were literally "hooking up" on the dance floor right then and there. I've been to clubs where you typically had to know somebody or pay enormous sums of money to go into a back room, and I'm sure all kinds of interesting things happened back there. Maybe that's what you're talking about, but I never saw anything like that open to the general public. The militsia will turn a blind eye on whatever happens in the exclusive area, but not up front. Groping, sure. Maybe even a ####### flash here and there. But not down and dirty right there.

“Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another, you have only an extemporaneous half-possession. That which each can do best, none but his Maker can teach him.” — Emerson
