H1 visa processing affected by Tourist visa

Hi,

I am currently in India and am planning to go to the US to gain employment. I have found an employer who will sponsor my H1. However, even after the H1 comes through, I will not be allowed to enter US before October. I would like to make a trip before that and am contemplating applying for a tourist visa to make a trip before my H1 application starts.

I have been to USA several times in the past and have had no problem so far. I was wondering if I apply for a tourist visa immediately and make a trip and then apply for a H1 while i am still there, will it affect my H1 application process?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
