Hi All,

I applied for the wife's AOS after she came on a K1 visa. We received 3 receipts for EAD,I485 and travel parole on Feb 14th, On March 8th we recevied another notification that our case was transferred to CSC for speedy process and then on march 14th we recevied a notificatipn that our case is being processed at a uscis office.

My question is what is this transfers all about?? Our local USCIS office is at Buffalo NY. And I saw that many here at Vj are done with Biometrics within a month or atleast they receive thier biometrics appt, in our case we havent received anything. Called USCIS and as every1 knows they read the computer script.

Please Help

The second notification you received that said something like "Your case has been transferred to a USCIS office..." is just verification that it has been received at CSC. It's a bit confusing the way they word it, because it sounds like it's been routed through CSC and is now at a local office. That's not the case. Until you hear otherwise, assume that it's now at CSC.

I mailed my package at the end of January and got my biometrics notice in around 2 weeks, with the appointment being on 2/28, about a month after submission. It sounds like you're a little delayed (Buffalo is also my local office and it's not like they're swamped with impending cases) but probably not enough to worry about it yet.

thank you guys....

But whats the thing with transfer, what really happens... does it really speed up the processing if it goes to CSC

It means you most likely won't have an interview and you'll just be mailed the green card whenever they get around to approving the application.

Sometimes it's faster, sometimes it's not. Luck of the draw really. It's been over 3 months since ours was transferred and no approval yet.

I'm the USC petitioner.

I've seen a few recent cases where people who got the CSC transfer are getting their GC in around 2 months, but others report that their case languished at CSC for longer than expected. The only saving grace is that it often gets you out of an interview. Other than that, it's hard to say with any certainty that it's a blessing or curse.
