I also added @gopconference to my tweets since now they run the House. If this were a business that you paid $340 for a service would you wait 6 months? Heck no, we would go somewhere else, but we are held captive to their beuracracy. I am sure many of us would be willimg to pay more for expedited service. this is so insane.

I was using #k1Vermonters. Can switch to #VSCBacklog, let's just make a decision one way or the other and post it here and on the VJ facebook page.

that you paid $340 for a service would you wait 6 months?

And some of us (me) paid $455 for a service, and already waiting for over 6 months!!! :crying:

You can never go wrong tweeting and retweeting again. While you're at it, see what else twitter has to offer (i like following conan o brian. he's so funny) Get your friends involved.

I agree the #K1Vermonters already have plenty of tweets. I just thought #VSCBacklog would be good too. It's up to you! Use either, or BOTH. :)

i found theses names of florida senators etc...

@MikeHaridopolos

@JeffAtwater

@VoteJustice

@SenChrisSmith

@Paula_Dockery

if it helps..

Those are State Senators not US Senators. They can't do anything about the USCIS, but we can still let them know what their constituents are struggling with. THe Florida Senators are Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson

Hi everybody,

I'm the male half of this DizLox VJ profile - the English dude lucky enough to be engaged to the beautiful woman you see in our profile pic to the left of this post.

This is my first post here, so please be gentle!

I'm an avid supporter of using twitter for a campaign - some of you may know that twitter was the tool that brought Diz & I together.

I use it for my business contact tool, my gaming contacts & news, sports updates and so on.

It's wonderful to read & watch so many of you embracing twitter as an additional way of reaching out to the pen-pushers who decide our fate.

However, can I just suggest a few points of tweet-etiquette..?

- twitter messages are limited to 140 characters. However, a service called twitlonger.com allows for extra lengthy tweets. Many smartphone or desktop computer apps/software allow use of twitlonger support. #TwitterForBusiness stats have proven (May 2010 - August 2010) that tweets exceeding 140 characters of text have a 12.82% chance of being read in full. I recommend restraining your tweets to 140 characters or less for maximum audience pull & impact.

- use the RT (ReTweet) function sparingly. Twitter accounts have been suspended before due to over-excessive RT'ing. This is cited as a common behaviour for computer-automated "spambots" and accounts have been blocked, due to lack of human interaction with the twitter community.

- YOU are the best person to sell YOUR story. You know it. You live it. You feel the struggle and joy of it everyday you are away from your loved one. A new tweet from your heart is more compelling than simply re-telling somebody else's story.

- using the #hashtag is THE BEST way to support a campaign & unified message - choose wisely. #K1Vermonters & #VSCbacklog have both been mentioned in this message thread. Use both of them in your tweets to support & further grow BOTH campaigns.

- some of you have posted a number of US Congress personnel twitter account names in this message thread. If you visit & login to www.twitter.com, you can create a "List". This allows you to select & group tweeting people into a single reference point, which you can then publish/promote/relay. One example could be a group list called K1Vermonters which includes everybody that's posted on this message thread. To see an example of what is possible, view my twitter account - @MrLoxy - and look at my lists shown on the right of my profile page.

- use a MAXIMUM of THREE #hashtags in your tweet. Readers of your tweet often won't appreciate seeing block after block of "#this and #that and #theother or #whatever". Coherent sentences with a #hashtag at the beginning OR middle...AND end will have the greatest impact for legible reading.

- simplest point of all: don't be rude. We ALL know how frustrating, upsetting, heartbreaking it is going through this process. We ALL miss our loved ones. The people processing our #visapetition may never have been in our situation. They may only see it as a desk job to put one of two stamps on a sheet of paper before going home to their own family. As difficult was it is, we need to appreciate the scale of the job they perform, the volume of applications they must be dealing with.

"Patience is a virtue", somebody once said...but I think the small print was missed of the quote:

"...I wish you luck with it."

:whistle:

I hope these little snippets of advice are helpful to you all - those who may never have known about twitter before today, and those who a tweet-veterans.

I am a self-proclaimed #tweetaddict, so if there's anything you wish to ask about how to tweet etc please feel free to drop me a line:

tweet: @MrLoxy

I even run a #tweetclass using Skype, face-to-face etc (first instruction always free, ha ha ha!)

:dance:

I look forward to seeing how the #K1Vermonters & #VSCbacklog campaign trends grow!
