Thank you for your response. I'd say what I see here is a lot of anger at a system that seems dysfunctional in a way not necessary. To give a quick background, this is my own perspective, many of us are filing for K-1/ K-2 visas to bring our fiances to the United States. First for many there was about a two month period in which USCIS processed 800, and then only 600 petitions out of about 12,000. However, the continue to claim that it is taking only 5 months. However the reality is that 6 months is the norm and it is slowly creeping into 7 months with no direct end. In addition, this is only the first stage.

For myself, I am about to hit 4 months, but what is frustrating is to see people who have filed seven months ago, people I have gotten to know well, with no end at sight. Furthermore, it is a system that seems to have little accountability to both its filers and congressional representatives.

I am speaking for myself, but I do think what many people are hoping for is a system that is accountable. If it's seven months, that's fine, tell us it is seven months, but do not become dishonest on the date. In addition a clearer timeline would help as for many people the not knowing is the worst aspect. More over, as this is a visa petition that directly affects American citizens, its priority should not be so low in the processing order by USCIS. I would also include this for the CR-1.

I know for myself, I am motivated by seeing people respond on Twitter but also I am aware that it cannot stay at just this. As an public urban school teacher and a young man trying to be reunited with his fiancee, I have seen how this system is deficient. As taxpayers this very important part of our government ought to be fixed. We expect USCIS to keep the bad people out, yet let those who are assets to our society, and loved ones of our citizens to be let in in a more efficient manner. I think what many of us are looking for is how to take tweeting into more political action. How can Twitter best be used? How can we branch out into something that is not only venting anger, but affecting change? How can we make better usage of media contact? This is my two cents. Furthermore, I'll list some ideas I do have below, for everyone else. Thank you also for your help!

If we can tweet and retweet also sign something for accountability. There are about 700 members between the two service centers, and I challenge everyone waiting to sign as well as get at least one other person to sign and let's reach 1000 in a month. If you reach a 1000 signatures, not only can it be emailed, but I'll also take a copy and present it to my congressman, Representative Burgess, but anyone else who wants to visit the office of their representative may do the same.
