Hi, really glad to hear Nov is being worked on right now, I am feeling restless not knowing when my I-130 is going to be approved, my I-130 was Rec'd on Nov 30th 2010 by USCIS, Notice date on the I-797C NOA1 is for Dec 9th 2010, I rec'd the hard copy NOA1 on Dec 15th 2010. As of now all I know is my service center is set for California, when can I expect for my I-130 to be approved and is their anything I can do at this time. Thanks for any help or suggestions in advance.

@ GeorgeT911: You've generally got slightly less than a month to wait before the USCIS will say anything other than 'wait until the 5 months are up.' Now, after that five-month mark (May 9th), you can start calling USCIS, but they'll say wait an additional 30 days before they will consider putting in a service request. You can then call either your Senator or your Representative and see if they can speed it up, but I'm fairly skeptical of the efficiency of that move so close to the five-month mark. 6-7 month, sure, but YMMV. (Disclaimer: my NOA2 came without prodding or poking approx. 2 weeks before my five months were up.)

TL;DR: sit tight and wait till May 10th, then start making noise.

@GeorgeT911: You are quite welcome. :) This is the longest part of the process; waiting on the approval from USCIS. NVC goes MUCH faster as it is beneficiary/petitioner driven (read LingChe's shortcuts for NVC) and while you're waiting on USCIS, you and your spouse should be getting all documentation needed together for NVC so all you have to do is print out the barcoded sheet when the fees are paid (one for AOS, and one for the actual visa application) and send it off.

Then another wait (length totally dependent on your embassy) for your interview, but usually is around 2-3 months. (Please don't totally quote me on that, as I've got one of the slowest embassies to go through, and that colors my advice.)

Good luck to you though - hopefully you won't need to start prodding USCIS :)

both of you gals hang in there. my NOA2 excitement quickly wore off while still waiting for my case number. it's tough to keep positive after the 5 month mark but rest assure that at least once you get your case number you'll be more in control and can speed things up. here's to both of you getting approved this coming week. best of luck!

same old luck of the draw i suppose. takes about a week or 2. i just tell myself that the brunt of the waiting game is over for us (and will be for you as well) and we're all in the home stretch.
