Thank you thank you.

My interview is going to take place in Garden city which freak me out a bit coz the review over garden city office seems to be more strict than manhattan.

SCARE NOT, unless you paid for your arrangement, there's literally nothing you need to be afraid about  there's no such thing as denying an application

I checked the website again today and for the first time, there was an update indicating that we have an interview on July 13. I haven't received the actual notice in the mail yet, so I'm just assuming it will be in Manhattan. Good luck to all waiting in NYC.

I wish someone will explain to me why some people have to wait for 8 months to get interview invites while some people get them in 1-2 months after NOA.

I know...I'm so sorry for the folks waiting since last Sept/Oct/Nov. Some of the reasons I have heard for some delays, I wouldn't necessarily put in a public forum like this because I have no way to verify the truth and would never want to mislead anyone.

All I can say, is I truly feel your pain and hope that everything works out well and as soon as possible. It's really frustrating to realize that had we been in less populated areas, we may have all been over this process already.

Keep the faith.

Hello everyone,

I'm really glad to have found this forum and thread.

See my timeline below in the signature... Been waiting since November, and that's not fun!

Thought it was something specific to my case, but I guess NYC has a big back log.

Anyway, good luck to you all! I'll be checking this thread on a daily basis and will update accordingly.

Cheers,

~k

Did you get anything yet?

We were applied in November 2010, and still waiting for an AOS interview date.... Today, I called to USCIS, and asked Representative for to be transfer to a second level Representative. So, I explained him our 485 file, and said that still have not heard anything. He checked our file, and said that he has a good news for us that they are working with our file right now, and we should receive our appointment letter for interview soon. Also, he said that we will receive our appointment letter 2 weeks before an interview. So, I hope we will receive it soon!!! If we will not receive letter in two weeks we will try to call them again. Hope it will help...I will keep everyone posted if I hear anything from them. Good Luck to all!!!!

I saw other review about Garden City NY USCIS office and didn't see people get stamp on their passports after the interview.

That's kind of the reason I think they are more strict. :P

My husband and I submitted our AOS on March 1st and we just received our notice for an interview for July 19. Earlier than I thought it would be, from the sounds of people on this forum.

It says it's at the National Benefits Center, which office does that mean?

When you get the actual hard-copy, it'll probably be the local office in downtown NYC. Good luck!

March filer here, just got an email notification today that our interview letter has been mailed - interview scheduled for July 20th. I was actually expecting and HOPING for an interview in August or later, since I am supposed to be in Finland for all of July. This means an expensive trip for a GC interview for me and my husband. I really did not expect an interview this fast since there are so many people who filed in NYC months before us and have not received their interview appointments yet. I can't understand the logic of scheduling these appointments.. but at the same time, I do not want to complain. We'll just make it work. I hope many of you others will receive information soon as well!
