NYC aos filier here. I'm hoping to revive this thread, if it's ok. I also posted in the November fliers thread. So we filed all the aos ppw on Nov. 15, packet delivered Nov. 16 and picked up by R. Morena on Nov. 17 sometime after 10 pm (a sunday, weird right). I hope my process is shorter and not as dramatic as Striker's. :clock:

NY filer here. Sent our application on Nov 8th, hoping for a fast process

Hi guys, unfortunately NYC is one of the slowest office so I would not count on a fast process. I've filed mid-August and I've been on Testing and Interview since September 18th, and still no interview date.

08/16/2013 - USCIS received my application
08/26/2013 - I received Biometrics appointment notice via mail
09/06/2013 - Biometrics Walk-in
09/17/2013 - Scheduled Biometrics
09/18/2013 - Received online notifications of I-485 application changed to Testing & Interview
10/09/2013 - EAD/AP in production
10/18/2013 - EAD/AP card mailed
10/21/2013 - EAD/AP card received

<----- not true

I also filed mid August and just had interview done today (nov 26th) and status updated to card production.

Just be patient, it could all be about luck according to who have had their hands over your file and how do they wanna process it and the complication of your case. Hope and good thinking will get far, I don't know about u, but after been out of status for 6 years, the waiting for this has been nothing, and I always told myself that even if it takes longer, things were going to get done.

I even heard of friends of friends in nyc getting things done in about 2.5 months. Cross fingers and hope u get it done as soon as possible :-)

Timeline

Hi everyone! smile.png

I filed my applications on August 16th and we had our interview today 7.30 am (ugh way too early for me dead.gif ) @ the Holtsville, Long Island Office.

Took us around 3.5 months to get the interview date so for everyone else still waiting please be patient!

We got there 15 mintues earlier than our appointment and had to still wait around an hour ClockWatch2.gif before we got called by an IO.

I am so so so happy that our IO was really nice and she actually did her job thoroughly, she had already reviewed our case before hand and said that we were pretty much approved before even sitting us down. I brought with me a fat stack of copies of everything we had sent in and extra evidence but she didn't want to look at any of it because she said we did such a good job with our original package (thank you VJ, I LOVE YOU! so if you guys did everything right in the application there's nothing to worry about!), she didn't even ask us for any form of ID (we brougth driver license, passport, birth certificate and the whole shebang...).

She swore us in and then just proceeded to asked us how we met, if I have met his parents before, if he have met my parents, asked me for the address where we live together and asked me the standard terroist/crime questions and then asked my husband what our date of marriage was, that's it! Took 5 minutes...

We had a PROBLEM though! the civil surgeon we went to see had forgotten to check ONE little box on my medical form so she couldn't approve us on the spot after all crying.gif ! She gave us and option to go get the form fixed and come back and hand it in to the check-in desk or to wait for RFE which might delay the process up to a month...

Of course we opted to go get it fixed today even if the drive to and from the place was 2 hours both ways. Damn those civil surgeons you pay them hundred of dollars and they mess you up like that!ranting33va.gif

Anyway I'm so excited I just wanted to share this with you guys, sorry for the long post. Now I can just pray that everything is okay and that she got my new corrected medical form and didn't forget to approve us.. Also after reading striker's posts I'm kind of worried our case will somehow end up like his mellow.png the stress is killing me, double stress because I have a midterm tomorrow and I can't stop worrying about this when I should be studying...sleep.png

Your packet was received after mine. Although you did your biometrics early, I don't think it speeds up the process. Check out the November filers thread. Most of the people walked in early for their biometrics but everyone seemed to get their EAD notifications between the 59 and 69 day mark (from the date the packet was received). In fact, another filer from the Bronx had their packet received 4 days before ours, walked in for the biometrics appointment early on day 20 from the date the packet was received by USCIS (whereas my husband went for his scheduled biometrics appointment on day 33) and the Bronx filer received EAD notification on day 63 and we received EAD notification on day 62. So in the end, walking in early for biometrics seemed not to matter much for November 2014 filers.

Be patient, you should hear something soon. Good luck!
