I got my interview for 10th of august but we have to reschedule. We're on vacation right now, does anyone know the deadline for a rebook? How many days/weeks before?

March 2008 - Met my husband (US Citizen)

10/10/2012 - Arrived to the US on M-1 Visa

01/13/2013 - Husband arrives to the US

03/15/2013 - Got married in NYC City Hall!Received marriage license on the same day.

03/30/2013 (Day 0) - Sent in I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131

04/03/2013 (Day 4) - Package received in Chicago

04/10/2013 (Day 11) - NOA 1 text(s) and emails received.

04/15/2013 (Day 16) - Biometrics appointment letter for the 7th of May 2013.

04/22/2013 (Day 23) - Successful Biometrics walkin Varick Street, NY

04/30/2013 (Day 31) - I-485 case status updated to testing and interviewing. Still no updates on EAD or AP

05/07/2013 (Day 38) - Biometrics appointment

06/07/2013 (Day 69) - EAD updated to Card production. AP updated to Post Decision Activity.

06/15/2013 (Day 77) Recieved EAD/AP combo card

07/10/2013 (Day 102) Received first interview appointment
08/10/2013 (Day 132) Interview (which we rescheduled because I was out of the country at the time of the interview)

To Bullan,

I hate to say this but re-scheduling is a total ordeal and you can be looking at 2-3 months after that fact; not to mention that sometimes things get lost in translation and they deny you for not showing up for interview even though you sent in request to re-schedule. I urge you to just attend the interview if at all possible.

A big congrats to you!!! About f*cking time (pardon my French). Can't believe you had to wait 71 days post interview to finally get approved. That means in total your entire saga was nearly 9 months. Unacceptable but what can we do??

LOL, I completely understand the reason for speaking french. At last I can breath a sigh of relief, but I must say I did contact my congressman last week and it might have helped. So if your case stretches too far past 30 days I suggest you do that too. Thank you so much for being a friend during this crazy process

I am not fast approaching the conclusion of 1 month post interview. This is getting really annoying and especially so as I saw a poster on another website get his approval the same day yesterday. Oh well... Another 15 days or so and I am going to schedule an InfoPass appointment to see what's up.

Thanks, I know exactly how you feel. Hang in there though. My only advice for you is that if you don't hear anything from them after 2 more weeks, contact your congressman. I did that and within days my approval came through. Judging from how your interview went and the documents provided, I am sure you'll be approved. Good luck buddy.

FYI, I made an appointment for an InfoPass in Long Island City for August 8, which is two weeks from now. Figure there is no harm as its very difficult to get an Infopass appointment as they run out very quickly.

I think the interview experience really depends on the officer. Ours was very informal, she asked us to each state our name, date of birth and occupation. She asked my husband how we met, she even made a few jokes as he told her. Then she asked if we brought any documents to support our application. We showed her photos from when we were dating, our wedding album, wedding guest book, life insurance showing me as the beneficiary, health insurance showing me as a dependent, bank statements of our joint account, mail with both our names on it, flight and hotel itinerary for our upcoming honeymoon. She seemed pleased. The only thing was that last year we were both students and most of my husband's income was not taxable-came from the veterans administration, so his income on his 2012 tax documents did not meet the requirement, so she asked if we could find a co-sponsor. We turned in the co-sponsor information 2 days later, and our application was approved that day :)

Today will mark day#39 post interview. The wait is becoming truly irritating, disruptive and annoying as we have travel plans that I have to put on hold now because they like to take their slow time. What we are observing is that all NYC offices are more or less back on schedule where people get interviews in 3-5 months and whereby approvals are granted almost right away. Another observation we are seeing is that filers from more prosperous nations (i.e., Canada, France, Italy) are given approvals almost right away whereas beneficiaries from the rest of the world (witnessed Thailand, Malaysia, Nigeria, Belize) are being given the run-around. Bear in mind that these observations are based on a a sample size of around 20 cases.

We got approved after out stokes interview today. The interviewer was confused as to why we didn't get approved the first time. We already got the email for card production an hour after the interview.
