I feel your pain. I am gradually losing patience but don't know what to do besides waiting. If nothing comes up until July 14, I will file a service request, but I am doubtful as to how effective that will be. I wish I don't live in Manhattan for the first time!

I have a feeling there is nothing wrong with our files. They are just sitting there in a corner waiting for these officers to actually do something about them. I am shocked there is no FIFO system or something.

It's all quiet on my end. Since July 4 is coming up, I expect some further delay... The Representative's office said they will follow up on my case in the first week of August. Now it seems that my case will remain pending until then.

So you contacted your local Congressman? I certainly hope for your sake it won't resort to their involvement and that you will get approval before that.

Yup, I contacted my local congressman in mid-June and was told that it was too early for them to look into the matter. Early August will be the earliest time they start to help.

Nope, it's day 62 for me and nothing yet. I have scheduled an info pass for next week, I have to go speak with someone, officially lost all patience

Oh my goodness, this is such a tragedy.. Can't believe you have been rotting for 2+ months now. This is a not a positive sign for any of us who went after you. Why do they make things so bureaucratic in NYC??

Frankly, I have no clue why the NYC field office can be useless sometimes. However, I doubt you should use my case to judge yours because we were specifically told a background check was pending for our case so that might truly be the cause of the delay. Plus artist123 went after me and he got approved before me so you never know.

What's annoying is that I see the last time my case was touch according to the website was that day the interview notice was mailed, in the last week of march. As for the i-130 it has been touched since December of last year...These people are just unbelievable cruel and lazy I think.

I think the "background check" excuse is quite lame. After the FBI and CIS reorganized their operations, 98% of background checks are now cleared within a month. For the remaining 2%, if background checks are still pending at the 6 month mark (which is true for just about all of us who have gone on an interview) and all other factors in the application are good, then the CIS has to grant the approval.

I just emailed my rep and asked for his help on June 11. His office got back to me with the following message: "I was conferring with my colleague regarding your case. She indicated that it may be too soon to follow-up on your I-485 given that the interview was only a few weeks ago. Currently for I-485 applications, the processing time after an interview is at least several months. I will hang on to your privacy release and put in my calendar to follow-up with USCIS in the first week of August to see where things are."

Any my rep is Jerrold Nadler from the 10th congressional district. Please let us know how it goes after you go to your infopass.

Well. The saga of the Green Card is not over. I received my GC in the mail on Monday 24th June. I checked everything was ok with the numbers and also my name was in block capitals. I'm from Ireland and my last name (surname) has a capital letter and apostrophe, and name. Last night, something made me go look at it again and I see that USCIS omitted the apostrophe and bunched all the last name letters together which now makes my name incorrect (yes, the apostrophe DOES make a differenc as it's my legal name).

My EAD and NY State ID have my name spelled correctly so this is an error at the USCIS office. If it was our error, we would have to pay almost 500 dollars to have it replaced.

I really am so angry and upset this morning. This is like a game of snakes and ladders! I just called USCIS and I have to now send them back the GC with copies of the letter of approval and a completed I-90 form to have it replaced. What's the beg deal you might think? The big deal is that current processing times mean that it may take 6 months. I was informed that they can 'probably' use my initial biometrics results but I may also have to get that done AGAIN!!!!! Also, I have to schedule and infopass to get my passport stamped as I have no stamp in my passport. I'm planning to go home for a week or so in September. This seems like so much hassle. My saga is not over!!! My last name is spelled incorrectly and now I have to go through a whole other process to have it replaced! I put up a post there now. I am beyond livid!
