To Vkn - yeah We got the EAD and everything done very quick, however my wife is not working anytime soon... hahaha so the EAD is not really needed. Just for icing on the cake.

To Mrs-FinlandUSA - yes I know there is a section on November filers, however Majority are not in NYC. I just need to find info on people who have applied in NYC as the wait time is much different.

To be honest, I am concern if I get an interview end of April as my wife and I have many prior engagement that is just as important as the AOS. But from Nounours, theirs is set for May 3rd which means whatever interview date I get will most likely be after May. I hope I get the interview letter soon. This is very annoying. Sorry for the ranting.

I'm so glad someone made this thread.....

I filed the beginning of November, no referrals, quick turnaround during the first couple weeks, then nothing.....

They seemed to miss my EAD application, but it's fine as im working on a H1-B and i didn't want to have to send in further paperwork that could potentially slow down my case....

It sometimes seems that the cases with referrals seem to get by a little faster, although i have no idea why that would be....

NYC just seems so busy with so many people applying that there seems to be so many people in front of you....

It's been a full 5 months with no interview letter, i called them in January, in case letters got lost in the snow storms, but they told me they hadn't sent me anything and it was fine....

it seems weird that people who filed later are getting interview letters sooner....

the online service is no help either, my case hasn't been touched since 11/17/10

I was thinking about giving it another month and then maybe making an Infopass appointment....

I'd like to keep this thread updated with how we're all progressing.....

so worried that my case is stuck in limbo on someones desk

9/14/2010 - Married -

11/01/2010 - I-130 & I-485 filed -

i looked into the infopass.... you realise there's no way you can get that for any time soon, and also, the NYC ones are all booked up, there was something at Garden City, although i have never been there, i doubt my case would go through there, but they should have my information...... If you check the USCIS website, they say you shouldn't make an appointment unless you have something outstanding or are without the processing time indicated on the site.... As many have stated the USCIS website still says 17th August..... so even when trying to make the appointment i feel like i shouldn't be......

I was using M+M's case as a bit of a guide, but now Nounours has an appointment i'm kind of upset :(

I'll see what infopass i can get though....

any other suggestions??

i have no idea what i'd say to a congressman

noxreallyxhonest... I am in the same situation. Majority of people who file in November is not filing in NYC. So far, only one person came forth as to receiving notice for interview which is set in May. I also went on the internet and read about the infopass and I agree with you on that one. I have spoken to the service rep twice already. My MSC could not be found by the 1st service rep but their supervisor can locate it. Kind of odd to me. Both times, the person told me that my application is good and that it will take more time for processing.

If the website say Aug 17th... that means they are only working on applications applied by that date? I'm not sure what it means.

I have received my wife's EAD... too bad she doesn't need it. So still waiting for interview letter.

Garden city is NOT that bad. The place is actually pretty nice and not as crowded as other places.

Let me know how your process is going.

Thanks Siasimba, I was so glad when i saw you'd started this thread.... at least we know its kind of normal for the NYC office for us to be stuck for 5 months plus...

will totally keep this updated

I'm sure that the August 17th date means that they are 'processing' applications made before that time, which is obviously not exactly the case because of Nounours...

what I think, is that they have to put the application with the oldest date that is going through the system when they update it (which i believe is around the 15th of every month, although i can't remember where i read that).....

i don't think we'll ever really know what it means....

Wow I'm jealous. May 3rd interview. I am about to go to my 7th month waiting period on April 17, 2 weeks, and still no word on an interview. Anyone from NYC please keep everyone else posted if you hear anything. I sent my application on September 10 for my wife and got an NOA 1 on September 17. She already received her EAD on November but nothing since. I thought a US Citizen petitioning for a spouse would not take long. I was certainly wrong.

wow... ronaldq... you filed in september? Why dont you call to make sure that you are not missing anything. Someone from November already got interview date. As for myself, I still haven't received anything yet. So I guess the waiting game continues. Like you, I thought it wouldn't take as long either. I knew someone who got their GC in 3 months. They must have filed it 1-2 months before me.
