For some reason I am unable to edit my previous post. But, it states "we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for August 11, 2011, at NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER."

Does not say which specific office but more details should be on the letter.

Hello All,

To those interested, we received the official letter on Saturday and our interview will be held at Garden City. We live in Woodside, Queens.

siasimba: Thank you very much!!

Just checked it out, and saw the following:

Guess they don't update that information often...

Field Office Processing Dates for New York City NY as of: April 30, 2011

Form Form Name Processing Timeframe:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status October 19, 2010

Any new updates from anyone?

I am a February filer and was approved at our interview today! Everything went very smooth - very basic questions. The interview itself was 10 minutes. Now let's see how long it takes to get the actual card. I read in another forum that they have stopped stamping passports at the interview because people have forged stamps. The officer literally handwrote a note in my passport - "i-130/i-485 Pending". I kind of panicked after I thought about it when we left, because she said we were approved but no stamp. Anyway, I hope that's the case.

Sigh of relief.

Good luck to all

My interview went well today. Very happy to report that I was approved and got a stamp on the spot! Will write a longer review later :)

My basic review:

Our appointment was for 1:45pm, we got there at 1:05pm. The atmosphere was pretty intense and there weren't many smiles to go around...(The front desk woman was busy with personal business on the phone, and wasn't very helpful or pleasant, so I had check with the (sour)lady behind the counter to make sure we were being remembered/that an IO was given our file and notified that we were here.) We waited to be called for about 2 hrs. Talked politics/read some magazines we had bought in the meantime. There were on average 5 couples (most with at least one child) waiting with their attorneys speaking in hushed tones.

We eventually got called by a polite gentleman of South Asian descent. He was very stern until after he swore us in, then he was very warm. He first requested IDs and original birth certificates etc. Then, he asked very personal questions that indicated he wanted to get a better sense of who we were. For example, what qualities did we like about each other. What do we have in common and a few that were situation specific (regarding reasons for previous divorce and plans for the future.) It was very emotionally overwhelming to be able to gush about each other and our love to someone who genuinely seemed interested.

He asked for pictures. (I gave him a photo-book I had made of our journey together to be added to the file.) He liked that it showed and explained in captions each step of our courtship etc. through the wedding and beyond.

He asked for copies of our lease and bank statements which I gave him.

Interestingly, he then asked my husband where his ancestors were from. He wanted to know about our cultural compatibility. Additionally, he asked whether he was interested in, or helped with the cooking. We had insides jokes, so we burst out laughing and explained why to him.

He then told me that I was approved and if I would wait 10 mins he would get my passport stamped.

We went back to the waiting room and when he called me up he gave me my passport and told me to read the removal of conditions paper.

Unfortunately, the 2 couples who went in around the same time as us were clearly not as lucky.

We walked away feeling incredibly blessed.

Best of luck of all!

Thanks

She asked for all my documents, took the newest bank statement, con-ed statement. She asked for a wedding invitation and one picture. She didn't even look at the album I carefully compiled - lol. She just asked my husband for one picture of us. She asked me his full name and DOB. She asked him my full name, DOB and my parent's first names, and that was it for questions. She said, everything looks in order and that I was approved and would receive the card in the mail.

Can anyone shed light on why I didn't get a stamp? She was nice and said the words that we were approved for i-130, i-485 and I would receive my green card in the mail.

Should I be concerned? I'm pretty sure it's fine, but bothered why no stamp and kicking myself for not asking.

Well we had our interview today and were the first to start the day. Boy did it go *fast*.

We were in the building for maybe 45 minutes. In the actual interview for less than 10 minutes.

The woman was pleasant, conversational and nice! After seeing how organized I was with all of the documents and copies, she suggested I apply for a job with the government. Haha.

There weren't any questions out of the ordinary and everything was really simple. She went through just a handful of the standard yes/no questions, asked for marriage certificate, financials, health insurance, utility bills and pictures. I offered her copies of receipts of things we did together (trips, shows, etc. etc.) and an itinerary of an overseas trip we're planning to take in a couple of months.

After the interview, we waited for maybe another 10 minutes in the waiting area and she called us back up and gave us the passport back with the stamp in it.

She didn't mentioned anything about the lifting of conditions, but we're not worried. We are elated that this round is over!
