Got married to my girlfriend of 19 months last week while compiling all the necessary documentation for the I-130. We're set, got the pictures, the forms, the translations, everything. My JET contract ends in July, so we need to turn this in because I'd like for her to be able to come ASAP, even if it's not together.

Now I go onto the appointment website for both Naha and Tokyo (since I live in Kansai, I'm not ruling either out), and there are NO DATES AVAILABLE. At all. The next 2 months have dates fully booked, but there is no available date after that, booked or not.

Does anyone have any experience with this in Japan? Is this a side-effect of the earthquake/tsunami/radiation concerns?

I read somewhere on this site that you can request a date and it might be granted, regardless of what the website says. Any advice??

I would try to make a request based on the current situation in Japan to have another Embassy, Seoul, Manila or Taipei, to process your case. Might be worth a shot???
