Speaking of public service if not off topic if it is the powers to be can move.

If wifes Embassy appt is at 630am, what time dose she need to be there, and is that the true time of her appt or am i dreaming.laughing.gif

No, unfortunately...it is NOT true.

My stepdaughter's "Interview Reporting Time" was at 6:45AM. We were there at 5:30AM, fell in line (as per guard's instruction). People entered the building on a first-come, first-served basis. Once inside, we were given a number. Numbers were called out, but seemed to be in no particular order. We finally had our interview about ~9:30AM. We left the embassy at about 10:30AM.

IMO, it is fine to be at USEM 30 minutes before your scheduled "interview." Some people arrive as early as 4AM...which I think is ridiculous.

Hopefuly water inside to drink, wonder if she should risk taking a small box of raisins to snack onwhistling.gif

You can bring snacks inside the Embassy. If she doesn't bring a snack with her, she can buy a snack inside.

As a public service and in the interest of full disclosure: TCO and his wife met in a Jollibee. :rofl:

I sure did, it was one of the best days in my life, I was chilling out there waiting for a ride, and she walked in.

I don't eat fast food in USA or any other country it's poor quality food and in USA it's cheap, but in PI it way overppriced.

Do you happen to have the picture of me and my Fiance when we meet at Jollibee, I think I had posted it here a few years ago.

I have lost it at my home computer, I would love to compare it to my new picture of me and her at Jollibee I took last month.

Just have to say i am like my relatives little kids when it comes to eating at Jollibee, love it along with eating outdoor barbecue chicken on the boardwalkkicking.gif

With that said any tips f my wife were in Dipolog no taxis, for catching taxis and to make sure not getting riped off. already told her to make sure they use the meter. Wondering if anyone has approximation in peso or otherwise geting around manilaOff-Topic2.gif

You gave excellent advice! Make sure they use meter...even before getting into the taxi! :thumbs:

Not sure what mode of transportation you're using to get to Manila. A metered taxi from Victory Liner Pasay to SLEC is ~P85.

Just came back Feb 7th from Manila and ate out ALL the time (not fast food). The food court at the malls are pretty inexpensive. She can have a complete meal for around 120ph to 150ph (rice, main dish & drink and at times, a cup of soup no extra charge). Sometimes they have specials for 88ph. And there's sooooo much to choose from.

Taxi fare can be pricey depending on traffic and destination. From US Embassy to say, Mall of Asia...we paid less than 100ph. A few days before I left, they had a price hike tho. And as someone mentioned in this thread....smog, pollution, heat are an everyday occurrence. Thank goodness all taxis are air-conditioned. She may be used to the heat, however, I wouldn't want to subject her to it.

$25.00 a day is plenty. It's a matter of budgeting. Good luck!

For worried spouses i was wondering what kind of daily budget to plan a day for my wife for first food cost and possible transportation cost, while she is conducting her medical, and embassy interviews in manila.wacko.gif Forgot about the CFO class too! Is there a safe place she can use a phone to call for a ride or taxi at St Lukes since they dont allow phones, also is she allowed to wait there or at a close restaurant to meet with a possible ride after she is finished.wacko.gif

I believe it is only the US Embassy that does not allow phones. I don't think St. Lukes cares if you have one. My fiancee had hers at St. Lukes. I called her while she was there. She didn't say anything to me about having to sneak it in and she didn't seem worried when I called her there. Where did you hear you can't have phones at St. Lukes?
