No. I do not respect people that are educated and do not respect our education and intelligence by telling us that everything is OK when it clearly is not. Especially when saying it is OK is to their benefit.

Japan and probably a larger part of the world are going to have serious problems in the future because they used nuclear power in an area it should never have been used in. We have no idea how bad it will be yet. Because the only thing anyone can do is run away and hope for the best...or less worst, if there is such a thing.

All UK nukes are on the coast. All nukes in the USA are by a huge body of water - either a big lake or river or the coast. They need massive amounts of water for cooling.

That's why there are nuclear ships but no nuclear trains

Yes. And? Who said they weren't or that there is a problem with the fact the are located on the coast? The problem is that they are located in a highly active earthquake zone...not the coast. I should have been more clear for people that voted for Bush by accident.

The problem was not that the plant was hit by the flood waters, it's that the earthquake knocked out the power grid which ran the cooling system and flood waters took out the emergency generators that were supposed to kick in in that event.
