I was born in small town back in my home country. My parents got birth certificate for me that time but that was lost during course of time. So they applied for new birth certificate and Department gave us new one. Here is the bummer , When I was born the name of the town was "Town A" and it was mentioned same on my passport. But In 2005 they changed the name of the town to "Town B" and when we got new birth certificate to file for Green card it said on birth certificate "Town B".

So there is mismatch of my hometown names on my passport and my birth certificate..Will these be any problem filing for my green card through marriage ?

I am thinking of attaching cover letter stating this facts to USCIS.. Please Suggest if there are any additional steps that i need to follow

You should attach a cover letter anyway, but it should only be a brief introduction and include a table of contents. Don't provide any detailed explanations on the cover letter because the IO may not read it. Write a brief statement as an addendum to your birth certificate, and place it behind your birth certificate in the stack of documents. I seriously doubt the difference is going to be a problem, especially if the IO can verify your statement.
