Once you get approved it all goes to NVC to create a case number then sent on to Sydney. They will contact your USC by email about packet 3 and then she can send that on to you. You need to do some reading so here is the site for Sydney and you can get your police report organised now and your medical too as they are valid for 12 months. That way when your packet 3 comes in you wont lose time as you can start to assemble your paper work now.

The consulate themselves are ok it is in Marin Place and easy to get to from Central station. The staff are nice and your appointment time is kept pretty close to schedule.

But read up and print off the forms that you need fill them in on pc and then print off. You only sign 1 if I remember rightly.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month

Hey Barbara..

thanks for the tips, muchly appreciated... just a quick question seeing as though u have been through all this, with the police report, can you get it sent to your house or does it have to go to the consulate? I went in today to get the paper work and nearly sent it off but it had the option for visa thing at the bottom and i wasnt sure and didnt want to waste money, sorry if this is a stupid question, just dont want to waste money

Thanks for your help :)

There is a K1 thread in my signature that will list what to expect for interview, and also packet 3 documents that you can get started. There's also an Aussie chat thread.

The police report depends on your state. Vic sends to your house some others send directly to consulate.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask in the Aussie thread where you'll get the most answers and embassy specific too.

Thanks for the reply, I live in Queensland, they give you an option of sending it to the consulate or home, so if its ok to get it sent to my house and take it with me to the interview i will do that, as apparently u get 30 days from notice of approval to your interview and it can take up to 28 days.. ill have a look in the Aussie thread, thank you for your help
