tax return transcripts vs tax account transcripts

Hey everyone.

I have a question about those 2 transcripts. Which one is the transcript that the embassy likes to see? My dad had ordered the tax account transcript and I have ordered the tax return transcript. I'm not sure exactly which transcript the embassy is looking for. Could someone tell me which is the correct one and the reason behind it?

Have you checked the instructions? they ask for full tax return or the tax return transcripts from the IRS.

I have always used tax return transcripts.

If you had post filing adjustments or corrections to prior years returns, then I'd send both. Worked for me good enough as I got a cpa this year and he found mistakes on my 08 and 07 returns. We filed amendments so I figured it was better safe than sorry when they start cross checking your adjusted gross on the AOS. I'm not sure if they have access to IRS data bases but I wasn't taking a chance. If there isn't an adjustment, I'd go with the Tax return transcripts.....alot neater than shipping a whole return with associated documentation.
