Was wondering if my wife who lives in Dipolog can attend the CFO seminar a week ahead of her interview, and after she passes her interview whistling.gif have her visa sent to her aunt with CFO certificate to get her stamp for her. Then let her aunt mail to her, to save her some time waiting on her visa to come in. Also the hassle of having to take care of that latter.

You're thinking of using the Philippines Postal Service to mail your wife's visa packet, including her passport with a visa and a CFO sticker in it? :bonk: Bad idea.

It's really no hassle for your wife to get her CFO sticker in her passport. She can do it at NAIA, or in Manila the day before she flies out.

Besides, who said her aunt would receive the visa packet any sooner than your wife in Dipolog would?

Thanks for the reply yes.gif! Dont know what i was thinking, i will have her stay there in pickup to avoid all of that, or the lesser evil she can wait for the goverment to mail to her at least she will have some recourse if they loose it yes.gif.

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Philippines
Timeline

applicants needs to attend the seminar and counseling in CFO , because the CFO officer will take a photo by using web cam plus the signature of your wife. CFO takes only 2 to 3 hours done. There's one on one interview after the counseling, most likely they would ask the were about of both party husband / wife status, CFO sticker on the passport is very important, with out this the immigration will cancel the trip / flight . I just done my CFO seminar today.

I agree nice current information from 2 of the above posters, that matches up with the CFO web sights i have read good.gif

Never a reason to talk bad aboout another persons postings as we are all here to learn, unless proven that a person is purposely giving out false information headbonk.gif

WOW! Your experience has nothing to do with immigrating to the US!

The info you posted is exactly opposite of the experiences of everyone else here, including my wife.

CFO was completed in a few hours before her interview. After she received her Passport with visa affixed she simply returned with her completion certificate & passport, they affixed her CFO sticker and she was done.

They certainly did confirm our status as husband & wife.

Finally, while it is true that Philippine Immigration can't cancel your flight with the airline they certainly will prevent you from passing through the checkpoints if you don't have the CFO sticker which effectively cancels your flight for you as you'll never board the plane.

PS: Insulting other posters with personal attacks (like calling them Dimwit) is a violation of the TOS...

Correction 3 of the above postersstar_smile.gif

Well, this is Visajourney: Your US Immigration Community. Members here in the Philippines subforum ask advice to immigrate to the United States. Duh!

Easy on the name-calling. PGD gave excellent advice.
