Hi guys,

it shows that my AOS package has delivered today 10:30 AM. We wonder how many days it normally take for USCIS issue a receive notice to me?

Anyone who have the I-485 receipt notice, could you please check the date on it? How many days did USCIS take from the "receive date" to "notice date"?

We're just concerned with the date, because the date on my I-95 is March 18th. I want to make sure that I'm staying in the States LEGALLY.

Nervous.

Anyone who has the same experience or know exactly the situation, I need your help here.

Thank you so much

XH

The receipt date is usually within a day or two of the day they physically receive the package, though occasionally it can be up to a week. It just depends on how backlogged they are with the intake of new petitions. If you paid with a personal check then watch your checking account for the cashed check. If you signed up for electronic notifications then you should get an email and/or text message once the packet has been processed in.

all of my previous receipts issued either the same day they received or the next day. Hopefully this time too.

but sometimes government really shocks you with their work efficiency.

But since USCIS already received my AOS package today, and if I didn't receive the receipt before March 18th, should I leave the country?

No, you won't need to leave the country. By getting married within the 90 days on the I-94, you've already technically satisfied the conditions of entry. Yes, you should apply for the AOS ASAP, but if you've got yours filed and have evidence that it's been received in Chicago, then you're in the clear. Some people don't file their AOS for months after the date on their I-94 passes. It's nothing I would recommened, but it's not usually an issue. In your case, INS won't be knocking on your door so relax.

NO.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
