hey all!

I am sorry if this question has been answered before. just wondering if anyone knows this question.

I am here on an employment authorization and going though my I-485. I recieved my W2's - do I file my taxes? if so, how would they file me? as im not a perminant resident yet, and im still in the middle of getting my green card.

anyone know?

If you worked in the USA in 2010, you will need to file a US tax return. IF you ONLY worked in the US last year and had no Canadian income then you only have to file a US tax return. If you worked in or had income from BOTH countries you have to file in both.

If you only need to file in the US it is straight forward, but if you are filing in both the US and Canada there are various ways to do it and it is more complicated.

There is a Canadian regional forum on this site. You probably will get better answers for cross border tax questions there. Link below:
