I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am, but I thought as a resident we are not allowed to get any gov aid for ourselves, but you can for the US citizens in your household. That's why we had to get the sponsor. If you get foodstamps or Cash assistance they will not calculate you in it, because you're not a citizen and I am assuming you won't qualify for unemployment for this same reason. But I am not 100% sure.

Well, we got good news and bad news today. Our NOA1 arrived today! It is dated the 4th, I've updated our entry on the list. :)

The bad news is that Dennis was laid off. :( He has been a contract worker in the IT department of this company for a year and a half. Basically he works for a middle company that contracts with another company to provide their IT support. It has nothing to do with him, the company has decided not to work with the middle company anymore. They're still hiring, but through a different company! Does anyone know about filing for unemployment as a permanent resident? I'm basically a stay-at-home mom, his income pays our bills.

My check wasn't cashed today. Starting to get a little worried they might be sending my packet back for some reason? Hopefully it will be cashed tomorrow. :unsure:

From what I read on VJ, people have been only able to track case status online after the biometrics or biometrics appointment letter (I am not sure if it's after the letter or after the actual appointment).

My check wasn't cashed today. Starting to get a little worried they might be sending my packet back for some reason? Hopefully it will be cashed tomorrow. :unsure:

I suggest sending in the i-751 with all evidence of marriage in as soon as possible. Once they receive your application ,evidence and fee they will send a one year extension while they do their processing.

I am still collecting other documents to add to the I751 package, like my tax transcripts and bank ststements. hopefully by next week I will got them all. I just wanna make sure I don't have to file the Affidavit of support form I-485 along with I-761.

I do not think it is late. They want you to fill in 90days time frame, not earlier or later.

Don't be discouraged yet. Just to give an estimate, my package reached USCIS on 3/29 (Monday) and my check was not cashed till the following Monday (4/4). Surprisingly, I also received NOA letter on same day as check was cashed. Yours will probably be processes in coming day or two.
