I agree! Let's keep posts useful or informative...this whinging isnt helping at all. I like to keep positive thoughts about this whole process. We all moan & groan about how slow VSC is...but sheeeeeshhh... enough is enough DarkLuck.

On another note....my 6 months is coming up next week. Now with their new time frame of 6.3 months... can someone pls tell me what a .3 of a month is? :-)

What complete and utter nonsense!

Drogs and deidre, the both of you have got to be the biggest hpocrites in the April and May forums respectively (I will revisit this charge momentarily). While positive commentary generally does help, the nature of this process is such that people feel they can come to VisaJourney and vent their frustrations at a process that is inexplicably exasperating. Likely, VisaJourney is the only platform in which they can share their frustrations; they certainly can't do so on the 1-800 customer service line! While you may not agree with their venting, as long as it is factual and respective of other forum users, who the heck are deidre and Drogs to inidcate otherwise?

DarkLuck909 was completely within his/her rights to question what he/she thought was false logic at why VSC processes slower than CSC. There is no evidence that VSC processes more fraid cases than CSC, and this was simply pointed this out. Also very factual, and well within the scope of this conversations, it was further pointed out that at this stage, every single April filer is well outside his/her originally advertised processing time of 6 months.

As for the charge of "whinging," the April filers seem to have done alright with Drogs's musings over the months which, in my humble opinion, are excellent examples of the "whinging" he is so quick to condemn. Here are some examples:

EARLIER TODAY: "6.3 months, Hmmmmn....... i wonder where they got that figure, they say they are working on Feb 24, my calender says that is close to 9 months. " [stating the obvious fact that VJ is outside their processing time in a snarky remark would definitely constitute "whinging"]

SOMETIME BACK IN OCTOBER: "Surely it would make sense to concentrate resources on one month and achieve that than actually disregard what is stated on the NOA-1, that processing is done in the order recieved. am i just being sensible here. Some Office managers and Senior Supervisors need butt kicking and to start taking control. " [Dear me, does someone have some butt kicking advise for how senior management at the VSC needs to do its job. Sounds like a fair bit of "whinging" to me]

I'm sure there are others, but I won't plow through the forums to make this point.

As for deidre who has crossed over here all the way from May filers, perhaps you should exercise some discretion in stirring up a tense conversation that DarkLuck909 seemed to already backed away from. It's understandable that you were itching to sycophantically align yourself with Drogs, but picking on someone just because you disagree with them is a little bit mean-spirited.

Understandably, some frustration has built up among April filers (for the obvious reasons) and is now filtering into May and, unless VSC picks up the pace, will also seep into June, July and beyond. Some people find in this time of stress that it helps to talk about the weather; others find it helpful to do pace analysit to figure out when they can expect to see some activity; others find healing in spreading hope and positive messages online; and then there are some (like Drogs) who choose to vent from time to time. These are all very valid responses to the present situation. Picking on others is certainly not!

I wish us all the very best of luck here, and do encourage us to realise that we came from widely different backgrounds. While we will never always agree with one another, the least we can do is treat one another with respect.

Very well said. The immigration process is difficult enough without us giving each other a hard time (especially since we're mostly in the same boat). In addition, most of us reach a breaking point where being patient and optimistic is just no longer possible (did my nickname give that away? haha). I did fairly well with the whole "just wait happily and accept that VSC is slow" attitude for a long time. I didn't even join any internet forums until very recently. I didn't start any "trouble" and didn't even contact the USCIS in any way until 7 months had passed (and again after reaching 9).

But having waited since February 4th when I personally know some California filers who applied in September (over 7 months after I did!) and already got approved makes it hard to stay optimistic. So I'm sorry to break it to all of you - even the 24th of February is a load of crock, at least when it comes to certain cases.

I think a lot of self-ascribed optimists on here will find it noticeably harder to stay optimistic when their own case reaches a certain a certain breaking point (though let's all hope you get approved before you reach 9 months like I've already done - and no, my case doesn't have any special red flags or anything of the sort, it should be as straightforward as can be - still happily married to my husband, financial co-mingling, low immigration home country etc etc).

I'm digressing (and I'm not even an April filer so I should probably shut up soon) but basically I'm saying the possibility to vent (like DarkLuck did) can be a very healthy function of this forum, and I truly empathize with such "whining" rather than get bothered by it. I'm well beyond the "thinking happy thoughts" stage.

In other news, I've already contacted a congressperson and a state senator, and if that gives no result, I'll contact some of my attorney colleagues in the area of immigration (I'm a lawyer but unfortunately not at all an immigration expert) and see if that gives VSC some kind of kick in the butt. My patience ran out yesterday.

our 6 months time frame has passed already last week, we might contact them after our 0.3

im not that worried since we have the extension letter...I do have a feeling that we would be applying for citizenship before getting the GC...

Well excuuuuuuuusseeeee me :-) didnt realize may filers had to stick to the may filers posting. Didnt you just say that VJ is a platform for everyone to express their own experience etc with this immigration process? So that doesnt make any sense with what you just wrote...because that would mean everyone can post where they want too.....helloooooooo.... smh.

I wouldn't get the congressman involved yet...

I'm a May filer as well, I think we will call USCIS sometimes next week...at least another April filer just got approved, maybe we are next, sometimes this year?
