Hi Everyone...been quite a while since I checked in. We are also waiting patiently still on VSC. We are passed the 6 month mark as well, but seeing everyone's posts I don't think it will help if I call and place a service request. Also, for those of you who may be considering traveling outside the US on your 1 year extension letter, we just got back from Jordan on Friday and we had no problems...we went through as if my husband's green card was not expired. The only little extra thing they did was when we landed at JFK they made us take the extension letter to a different section for them to verify. The guy at the immigration/customs desk said they get alot of fraudulent letters so they just verify...it only took like 5 minutes. :) We were hoping to come back & find his green card in the mailbox when we got back from vacation, but it wasn't there :(. Oh well...I am just glad to have him by my side during this process instead of him being 6000 miles away like the first go round!

Good luck to everyone...here's to approval before Christmas!! Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Really? Coz I read at the USCIS website that you need to be a US citizen before you could petition siblings as well as parents.

You realize that the wait time for a Phil. sibling visa is something like 20 years right? I don't think you should worry about a few months when faced with that kind of a wait.

Actually it's 23 years now. Lol! I'm applying for student visa for my sister. They said guardian needs to be a US citizen. Now, can my husband petition for her instead?

Really? Coz I read at the USCIS website that you need to be a US citizen before you could petition siblings as well as parents.

You realize that what you have applied for is not citizenship, right? You have applied for a 10 year greencard, which does not make you a US citizen. If you are still married you can apply for citizenship 90 days before you have been a resident for 3 years, otherwise it is 5 years.

I thought I would try my luck calling Customer Service again today and they still won't put in a service request. However the CSR was able to tell me that VSC is currently processing I-751 cases received on February 28 and that it could still be another 30 - 60 days before I heard anything.

I love how they tell me that based on the website date the case is outside of the normal processing times but the internal processing date means the case isn't outside of those times :wacko:

It looks like we were right when some of us said earlier that we would get our 10 year GCs for Christmas :help:

Actually it's 23 years now. Lol! I'm applying for student visa for my sister. They said guardian needs to be a US citizen. Now, can my husband petition for her instead?

Your husband should be able to help her out, but if there is no rush I would just wait for your citz paper work to go through. You might check with the student section of this website and others since they would know far more than I do. I know some things about student visas since many of my friends went that route (not adjust to marriage... but to work visa, or j-1 to student, or just apply for the f-1 and ride it out), but I def don't know enough to encourage you to file paper work haha.
