DOes anyone know if the government shuts down will that effect our filings?

I wondered the same thing too. I did a quick search on VJ and found a thread that says that USCIS is self-funded thus not affected but I am not 100% sure.

By the way, there are couple threads about this government shutdown issue in Politics and Religion forum if you're interested in reading more about it.

Based on recent approvals, I see CSC applicant getting approved in around 3 months but for VSC applicant, it's almost 6 months.

Hehe, I do this too. "I'll be happy when XXXXX..." and as soon as that XXXXX happens, I am on to next thing with the same "I'll be happy....". But in a sense, I am ok now, since we've NOA1 in hand which means we at least have proof of residency for 1 year.

Hi Everyone...I am hoping my check will be cashed soon too, that way I will for sure know the ball is rolling or at least it got a little shove. :whistle: I am eager to have the 1 yr extension as we are traveling in September. But USCIS told me over the phone that the estimated approval time is 6 months...I've seen here on VJ anywhere from 3-5 months. But hopefully VSC will pick up the pace...maybe they will get happy because the weather is getting warmer and that will make them work a little more efficient, here's to hope!
